Case Study- Ranking a page with just Web 2.0s

I snagged some random high DA/PA tumblr domains lately. Do you think I can use them in any way? I only use social media traffic to rank and I am getting like 100-200 (sometimes 500) organic traffic everyday. I would like to reach at least 1000 everyday..

I would make secondary web 2.0s and point these to the main ones and see how that fares.
How many posts to make on these secondary ones? Just one post with a link or 1 to index, then a second one with a link after 3 weeks?

It's really a judgement call. I would make the secondary ones of the same quality as the tier 1 profiles.

  1. what web 2.0 did you use?
  2. what kind of anchor words did you use?
  3. are your web 2.0 show up in google search console?
  4. what kind of links did you send to your web 2.0s?
  5. how long did you let your web 2.0 age before you added link to your money site?

Thank you :)
And thank you for everyone else as well for the kind words.
I had meant to say that the web 2.0s will be effectibrly brand new. I may get a few expired tumblrs to mix things up a bit. However, the goal of this is really to see if people new to IM can get up and running with little to no cost. Money will need to be spent on a domain and hosting, as well as a VPN, but apart from that, the rest can be done for free.

For Reddit, it's a must. Also, I'd rather take the precaution of hiding behind a different IP for each property rather than coming a cropper on it further down the line.

Hi, could you elaborate more about VPN usage for building web2.0 properties? Do you only use the VPN when creating the web2.0 or must you use a VPN everytime you edit the site/post articles?

  3. where do you put your link on this web 2.0
1. For the first site, I have built 10. For the second one, I have built 2 so far.
2. This varies. I go for at least 4, but no more than 10. It's important to vary this so that there isn't a set pattern that could result in a footprint.
3. I like to vary where I place the link in the article. I always try to make it look as though it's been written as an information piece, and not solely for getting a backlink.

  2. what kind of anchor words did you use?

  4. what kind of links did you send to your web 2.0s?
  5. how long did you let your web 2.0 age before you added link to your money site?

1. I have used Reddit, Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, Evernote, Medium, Bravenet and Knoji
2. I normally either use the brand name or a generic one, but on occasion I will use the main keyword.
3. Some aren't, although I've found this to be normal. They do all appear in ahrefs, though.
4. So far none. On both examples I haven't built any secondary links to the properties yet.
5. This depends on the web 2.0. In the case of Reddit, I put the link in right away since it appears natural that you would have a link to the info you're writing about. Plus it's a great way to get some residual traffic. As for the other sites, I normally add the link at the same time as the article that will have the link it it. However, I don't put this page up right away. I'll add in filler content first, and then add in the page with the link, and then add in more filler content. I like to let them age for at least a week though.

I use the same location for the VPN any time that I'm accessing the web 2.0. If I made a wordpress site whilst connected to Brazil, and then logged into it without the VPN, it would result in Wordpress flagging this. This has actually happened to me before.
If you're building multiple sites then it's important that after you've made them that you don't log it them for the same, real IP of your home.

What's your 2.0 maintenance strategy? Just let them deteriorate?

Do you use any tools to post to/maintain the web 2.0?

Nup, I do all of this manually.

So time for an update.
For site site 1

I'm perplexed why the page on site 1 has bombed a bit. I'm not overly worried about it, but I'll continue to build high quality web 2.0s to it.
As for site 2, I only started building links to it on the 16th December, and at that there were only 4 built to it. This is the one though that I'm going to do tiered link building to it.
I've still yet to set up the Reddit post for site 2. Christmas and work has gotten in the way. I'm about 4 or 5 accounts away from having enough for an ample amount of comments for that Reddit post.

Do you keep the post (the one that contains link to your money site) on the homepage of all 2.0s?

Very rarely. If it's a blog setup like Tumblr then I will but if it's a site like WordPress then I'll put it on the specific page for that product.

Following this with interest. Only ever really used 2.0s for diversification/parasites, so keen to see if they still hold on any notable power in their own right! Keep at it, OP!

i just have a question
if i have a website like a newspaper and i want to rank for all of my articles, ranking for one article is enough to rank them all or i should rank more than one
what should i do in this case to rank my articles please

you need to select few of them and rank them. point links with right keywords to each one.

I have read all comments and posts so far and still don't understand how web2.0 works. So if I may ask in a lame mans understanding, is this what these whole case study means:

1 - Get x amount of expired tumblr accounts?
2 - Login to each using VPN
3 - Submit article on each tumblr accounts without links
4 - Wait for x days
5 - Edit each article and add links (where do the links point to?)
6 - Not sure what next from here...

for 5, you should only add links in the tumblr description area, not in the article since you won't get any benefits. you need to add it here
https://www.tumblr.com/customize/YOURTUMBLRPAGENAME

once you go to this link, you will see a description field on the left side. insert your HTML paragraph and your link here.

I'm running a similar text with some web 2.0 links. Once they started indexing my keywords tanked and have been bouncing. I stated with my main keyword at 19. After the first web 2.0 indexed it fell to 40. It has been bouncing from low 30's to nowhere, day to day. Hoping it will settle higher than I started after they all index and it settles in. Still adding more links and will see in a few months.

It will be interesting to see if your results are similar.

What are you talking about?

The link from the post is a meta-redirect. Which means it passes juice.
That is the theory.

In practice, I see results on my own pages and I have clients getting back for more links from posts because they work.

So, at least have you tested this before getting to this conclusion?
