Approach Soccer Players

So I'm a Chelsea fan, and one person I follow is https://instagram.com/jorginhofrello?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=i6ru4tfcplqb that's Jorgino. I notice every fixture he is going to play, there's always a designed pic accompanying it.

EDIT: Wanted to edit my title to include all athletes, not just soccer playere.

So it got me thinking. How about I approach these "stars", locally (online and maybe face to face if possible) and offer some design package. Which will include a prematch, motivation, win, or whatever design for an agreed fee per month? So maybe check all their months fixtures and conjure a price from that

What do you guys think? Any of you tried this?

What I've noticed is that all players including Arguero and Ronaldo do use their accounts even on a personal basis, but it would be hard reaching them, maybe you could try reach the small time players who still earn big bucks.

Defenitely, i'd try English Championship, or Lower. They still make more than a decent wage in England

Ditto. But my initial concern is payment. I'd want this to be as seamless and straightforward as possible. Hence local clubs, because there are many payment options, mainly eWallet linked to a mobile number, and recurring debit orders.

PayPal or bank transfer. But i would defenitely adapt to player's preferences.

I've done work with, and still have a couple athletes and you most certainly need to get them when they are still in the lower "leagues".

They are typically very approachable and if you approach them like humans and not targeted prospects you will do a ton better than coming at them hard and pushing your deal on them.

Some will stay with you as they move up, some will leave and go sell insurance and some will kick you to the curb once they get more famous and have a bigger team or a more professional team helping to manage their affairs.

Credit cards or bank drafts are going to be the main way for you to collect (at least that is how it is in the USA) and if they are getting paid they have at least a bank account.

Thanks, but the problem with the ones in "lower" leagues may not see the incentive of having a nice mockup done professionally, at least that's what I observe when I look at their profiles... And thus inundate their profiles with crap posts.

Honestly i would suggest you to make an GFX Instagram page (scale up to 10k followers) of some of your work. I would do some edits of the player you want to make GFX for. If players really liked it, they will Comment or even DM you, asking for something more

I don't know soccer players but I do know that golfers see the value.

They are all about setting up a perfect image to garner endorsements and once they get them all about promoting them in as many clean ways as possible.

Interesting... Golf market seems a tad daunting for me, but I may just look into it.

Hmm. Interesting... So that's the long term-ish and uncertain approach. But a week would be enough for 10k followers (have some aged accounts) and by then you'd have maybe 9 designs for 3 football clubs, 3 different players and see if the bait works...

I would imagine for the top brass. Hence the suggestion from @BassTrackerBoats to do lower leagues where there may not be a system in place to cater for such.

Plus reason I brought up Jorgino is because he has a private designer not affiliated with Chelsea (because he posts UEFA and world stuff too), at least I haven't seen the same/similar designs with any other Chelsea players, or players posting designs for that matter.

The way I got my first client was I am friends with a guy whose daughter turned pro back in 2013 and I offered to help out for free. I did a bunch of stuff, set up her website even and helped her focus her social media as it was all over the place.

Once she got a couple of sponsors I worked with her to be sure to get lots of pics of the car she was given to use, the clothing line etc and in all kinds of places to show that owning a Ford Mustang was not just like owning a car, it was owning an emotion (fun) and had that car in all kinds of places with all kinds of happy people in it.

The free turned into a revenue stream and I got introduced to others at the same level she was at... mini tours. Those kids don't have any money and more often than not someone was footing the bill for them to travel to and enter tournaments so there is not a lot of money there but grab onto a few that end up making money and you can make some money in the field you are looking to enter.

Give it a shot, you won't lose much more than your time if it does not work out and you'll probably meet some nice people and get to go to events that most don't get to go to in a capacity as one of their team.
