Anyone used anti-malware for wordpress?

Hi, I just installed this plugin Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall (I'm not an affiliated with them) and just wanted to know that is it okay to register using my email and name to get the password for logging into the plugin to be able to download virus definitions?
It was written - "I will not share your information" on the little registration box. The plugin has over 2,00,000+ installs and full 5-star rating.

I just want to scan my theme if it has any kind of encrypted and malicious code. I did try TMC but it is untested with the current WordPress version. It did work but I think it was not able to do job at it's full potential.

If they came from WordPress.org then they are safe, they have very high standards to list on there. Anyway this should be in blogging

wordfancy is ok for 1 site and free version is sufficient to handle a blog

I'm laughing hard, must of people thinks installing plugins that will cover and you will be protect at 100%, but that isn't true. Who says that, are lying to you. I will tell the truth.

To have better security on your blog, it isn't a simple plugin that will solve that. In most of cases, it open a black hole on your side. That called exploits, vulnerabilities or bug in your "security plugin". That hackers can use to get access to your wordpress backend or even until your server.

The best way and prevent any hacker is on server side, not in CMS side. Of course it can helps, I'm not going to lie. But it won't work in all cases. Have a lot of plugins, it's a opened door to hackers come and hack your blog whatever you are using.

For who believes that installing plugins in Wordpress, will save your ass from Hackers. Please make a favor and cut your internet cable seriously.

totally agree. a plugin alone won't help much if you don't know anything about security yourself. it may protect you from some automated scans, but not a dedicated attacker.
also as mentioned sometimes these plugins themselfs have exploitable bugs, which is the irony of it. you install it to feel secure and get hacked because of it.
its just an additional layer, but won't help much to really defend against hacks.

Finally, someone understand what i'm saying. Using Plugins won't save any life from Hackers, it can prevent but it can bring exploits and a opened door to explore and hacking our websites.
