Alo, using scrapebox and scraping google, bing, whatever search engine or even tumblr itself is more than doable.
The only thing that most don't know is how to use scrapebox. Few are really trying its options to understand them so they can put that knowledge to good use.

A rankings update will be put up shortly.
The Reddit post is ranked now and is actually brining in traffic to the Money site. I'm working on the other pages for the different properties and wanting to do this slowly since it's going back to a site that I don't want to wreck.

As far as the content goes, it's nearly all done for the pages that will have links in them. Now I'm moving onto the other (filler) pages on the website and when then I'll slowly start to drip them onto the properties.

As mentioned before, this case study may fall flat on its face, but at the very least, it's providing backlinks diversity.


Ideally all of the content for each property would have been done well before now, but personal commitments away from BHW took over I'm afraid. Since I'm writing it all myself by hand (spun content is a no no), it is taking a bit longer.

So as promised, a small rankings update.

As expected, the results are somewhat unremarkable. The reason for this is that whilst all of the content has now been written, only one link is pointing to the site and it isn't even appearing in WMT yet. However, I'm also glad that the rankings have staid somewhat stagnant. As we all know, rankings can go up and down on their own over time, as shown by the purple keyword line, but apart from that, there hasn't been much change at all in the rankings.

Therefore, if these web 2.0s are going to make an impact, surely this will be reflected in this graph and the ranking change will ideally be much more profound. Of course, there is the chance that these web 2.0s will do exactly bugger all in which case all I've done is vary the backlink profile (which is never actually a bad thing).

Once again, apologies for not being as proactive as I would have liked with this one. Personal matters have taken up a lot of my time and unfortunately this case study had to play second fiddle to the day to day rigmarole.

Thank you. So far, I can't give an answer. I've written all the content so far for all the platforms I'm wanting to use. I haven't published these yet, though. It's only the reddit post that's been put up so far.

I get a do-follow even without upvotes. However, my main account is about 2 years old and has around 5000 karma.
How old and what karma does your account have?

My accounts are ranging from 9 months to 3 years old. I've got over 60 of them.
The karma for them is pretty mixed. However, what I always do is add in comments as well. It looks so unnatural for a post to have X amount of upvotes but not any comments.
For the post that has the link back to my site, it needed 3 upvotes to flip the status of the link.

Hey @mindmaster have you tried to turn a Tumblr into a authority website ranking for a difficult keyword?

So time for an update:

One of the long tails that was somewhat stable has dropped off the face of the Earth. However, some of the others are starting to creep up. Bearing in mind that this is off the back of some web 2.0s (5 to be exact), I'm ok with this. The purple and peach coloured lines in particular have in excess of 3k searches between them per month (according to the latest info by Kwfinder). This case study is far from over, but I'm glad to see that it is able to raise the rankings of this page. It's not spectacular by any means. However, these are brand new web 2.0s. For those that want to build up a couple of pages with free links to get some money in, this method can work.

I'll be adding more web 2.0s soon to see if these rankings can be pumped up even more.

I don't see why not. Of course it does depend on the competition of the keywords, the web 2.0 of choice and the quality of the articles on the properties. I dare say that you could increase the rankings even more by tiering the web 2.0s

If you build any link yourself, it's blackhat.

This, so much this. Even if it is paid and really expensive with 100% original content, if you went out of your way to get it, then it's not "natural", therefore not white hat.
