Homepage and Products Page SEO

Hi Everyone,

I have an online store with the homepage being also the page where all the products are displayed, which i don't know what to do with when it comes to on-page SEO. Should I use the main and broad keywords on it or get more sepcific and use related words?

Another problem i'm facing is with the products that are all similar in many ways, i don't want to use the same keywords for every product so i don't cause ''keyword cannibalism'' , yet i can't find different ones to describe the same product with.

I'd really appreciate the help as i've been researching for weeks with no clear results.

I would have the home page with general info on products and linking out to the individual product pages. Then use different keywords so as not to cannibalize the inner pages

I was wondering if i'd use general or main keywords for the homepage, what about each product page seo since every product is very similar?

Narrowing down is the issue i'm having, i'm offering lingerie to sell and all products are similar in matterials but a little different in patterns, i researched possible keywords for what distinguish them mainly the patterns and i found out the keywords aren't being used google showed very few searches monthly. i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

So you don't need derivative keywords to get traffic.

If you do both conversion rates will go down (main keywords and derived keywords)

I'm sorry if i didn't get what you're saying, are you saying i shouldn't use variations of the keyword in each product page? if i didn't use variations and i used the main keywords isn't that what i'm trying to avoid ''keyword cannibalism''? because i'll be using the homepage's keywords that has the main keywords with the product page, and each product is similar to the other so i'm not sure what keywords to use for each page if i don't want them all to have the same keywords. i hope this is not confusing to you as it is to me.

Yes, I was thinking to use such keywords depending on each product. Thank you very much for your explanation. But to be honest with you, when i open a box a smaller one is locked inside when it comes to On-page SEO. Do you know where I can find a trusted not expensive SEO expert to help set up my site for the first time to understand how things work at first?

You should work alone first.

So that you understand the basic seo.

Renting people without knowing what to do is a mistake.
