I had no luck with Twitter botting the last time I tried. Phone verification requests were crazy (multiple times a day). Twitter compared to IG botting is a complete hell.
I've been doing 30 minutes sessions every other day of +75 -50 follows/unfollows.
This is averaging about +37 and -25 per day, and still getting locked ( unlock with SMS codes)
1) Do these locks eventually lead to serious penalties?
2) Should I spread my actions out across a larger time frame to get a higher limit?

Same here. Got phone verification for tens of accounts before I pulled the bots.
Also their API now requires developer identification. Not easy to get API keys anymore.

You need to be automating the website. Is a no go via the "public" (closed) API any more.

Not personally, but I know many users run bulk accounts 100s is the normal number but I am aware of some with 1000+
I don't run accounts / promotions, I just use it for testing
