Domain Flipping - Valuable or not?

I have recently heard of domain flipping business and many people are earning too from this business. But I didn't get what type of domains should we buy to flip.

Can anyone explain in detail?

I have checked in Godaddy, some random name of 3 characters domain was selling at 2000$. The domain had no meaning in Google too, but still had 30-40 bids on it.

Any three-letter domain can be bacronymed into a business name, and being only three letters it's immediately brandable and memorable.

Yes it is. I flip domains myself. In order to be profitable you have to be able to buy domains in bulk. Spent $1k-$2k on buying solid amount on re-seller websites. Than set the price of the domains you buy for $70 - $100+ and depending on the panel that you work with people can automatically buy the domain for the price you are putting out for.

I am not saying that the domain flipping industry is explained in one sentence. The domain name industry is quite similar to the real estate industry in a lot of aspects. There are end users, brokers, consultants and domain flippers or “domainers”. Domain flipping works similarly to buying a house, renovating it (or even sometimes just sitting on it) and then selling it again at a higher price point. The gist of it is: you’re purchasing a domain name and betting it’s worth (or will be worth) more than you paid for it. If you’re right, you get a nice paycheck and move on. Those who make a living out of this just rinse, repeat, and scale.

Do some people make a living out of buying and selling domains? Yes, absolutely. However, the main risks lie in expectations and mindset. Sure, it may seem like a lot of domains are selling for crazy amounts of money but how many domains actually exchange hands every year? Millions.

I did not plan on writing a step by step guide on how to build a successful domain flipping online business but I am just letting this man know that there is money into Flipping domains if done right. I have been doing this for quite a while and I am more than happy to show you how much domains I have sold successfully in past two years.

2,613 domains, but also If you don't have a large investment to start up domain flipping it is not going to work. So In future i will be sharing Step-by-step guides people need to take in order to succeed in domain flipping business for free. There are many ways of building this strategically and everyone has their ways. My way is different than yours!

Coudn't a low-cost, light duty domain flipging biz be as simple as setting aside $50 or so dollars a month for this, brainstorming a number of enticing titles (especially in popular niches, buying 5-6 of the available ones at a time, then re-selling them at profit? If hey don't sell in a month, just buy another 5-6 next month and repeat the sales effort. Just one sale at $60 would at least recover your cost, and some of the rest could be actually be used to build viable minisites to keep, or resell.
