[Guide] How To Save $$ A Month On KWFinder

Thanks for the guide. I need to check keyword difficulty in bulk, say for 10K keywords at once. So far, I have reverse engineered keywordseverywhere extension, so I can have Volume, CPC and competition (adwords) (global, US, UK, AU, IN, NZ etc.) for any number of keywords. I have also reverse engineered Moz toolbar extension. So now I can have DA and PA of any page link.

Its easy for me to scrape top 10 results of google for any keyword (quite experienced in scraping). However, the problem is in calculation of competition. You have ignored mR and mT, while I want to include them. The moz toolbar doesn't have mR and mT and OSE is going to be closed by 30th August.

I have statistical data (210 datasets, regression done in SPSS) that clearly suggests that mR and mT is needed. If anyone can give some lead about getting mR, mT (ofcourse by not paying to moz) it will be great. Hope to make some tool for my personal use and release to BHW too.

In the future I'd like to work on creating a tool to bulk check. Would be good to just upload a list of keywords and show comp. score etc.

I've been moving away from comp. scores a lot now and more onto simple advanced search operators like allintitle and total results. These scores in bulk would be something I'd like to include. I cba to get Scrapebox as the costs of proxies is the part that puts me off :/

Yes this simple formula ignores mR and mT. I'd be interested in hearing your reasoning for the importance of both mR/T.

Attached is 11 random datapoints out of 210 datapoints.

My formula for 4 parameters (DA,PA,mR,mT): KC = 1.981+DA*0.243+PA*0.352+mR*1.866+mT*2.2
My formula for 2 parameters (DA,PA): KC =3.901+DA*0.248+PA*0.661

Note: these datapoints were collected before the moz stats refresh (I believe in January or Feb). However, when I checked the KW finder now for some keywords, I can see that mR and mT is always = PA/10. Can you confirm that I am not getting things wrong in my dashboard. The 12th row is data from today. If I can just use PA for mR/T in the calculation that would be great.

Have you tried the original formula I've mentioned.

Rank = (DA*0.25) + (PA*0.4) + (MR*10*0.22) + (MT*10*0.13)

From the user who worked out the formula said was the closest he could get to the official score from KWFINDER although I've not tried it myself.

I like mine because it's simple but your 2nd test looks more accurate so I will start using it. I like to add a few points on just to be safe.

Thanks for your share. UnterIntere results.

Hacko's results are off, especially showing lesser competition. I will stick to my 4 parameter formula and consider any keyword <=42 for my sites. The moz toolbar is providing 75K requests per 30 days and 15 requests per 30 seconds. So I will create another 10 or so free moz accounts and plug them all in my script. Keywords everywhere doesn't seem to have any hard-limits, but I will still add multiple free accounts.

Also, kwfinder has stored values of PA/DA (and not realtime). So for a number of keywords I checked, the KC is lower and older. I will put together some quick google serp scraper and see how it goes for me. If it works ok, I will release it to BHW. I have around 15 amazon sites so it will be quite a test before.

Very good explanation, bookmarked will definitely try in the coming days.

If anyone's read the original post and now onto the comments I suggest using the following formula which was tweaked and optimised to be more accurate than mine.

3.901+DA*0.248+PA*0.661

Big thanks to @puneetas3 for testing some doffediff parameters out.

Thank you so much would you please share a little video on this post I hope as a newbie that will help all BW members. thank you SEO GURU

KW Finder released a new article today announcing that they are changing up their KD score calculations etc. You can read the article here. Therefore the calculations mentioned in this article are now likely outdated and not accurate. The new KD includes TF/CF. Maybe if I have time I might get around to updating the formula.

nice share, i am waiting new formula for the new kd with tf cf

Hey @Holzr !

Do you have plans to update the formula anytime soon? Im about to create an automated tool to parse and to the calculations from the CSV, i guess the TF/CF should be added manualy after wards, but its still a time saver. (might came up with automated process for this also.)

I don't plan on calculating a new formula. I'm just way too busy currently. I use Ahrefs exclusively with manual work for Keyword research nowadays.

Will go through it and learn this new trick.
