Google update again?!

As i look at mentioned article it's ranking TOP 1 for one word longer long tail keyword where full keyword density is really low, just one word has better density, the main keyword gone away. Some possibility, algorithm just try too look for authority less "spammy" content, analyzing text, synonyms etc which is more natural.

Are you saying it dropped because the keywords are embedded in the page making the page look spammy?

The website with similiar niche is ranking at TOP 5 for my main article keyword and the page content is only one image, my article with 1500+ is on 3th page of google results (main keyword), secondary keyword (long-tailed + 1 word) is TOP 1.. that main keyword is in title, des and so on but density around 1%.
 
This whole 'no fix' thing has had me thinking. Either it's total BS or Google is now directly penalising sites (regardless of changes that they have made). Why tell webmasters to keep uploading great content when according to them it'll do f**k all?

Surely if there's 'no fix' it is a huge contradiction to what they've previously stated for eternity re: content, quality etc. No matter how much you improve your site to fit in with Google's (supposed) guidelines/wants it won't make a blind bit of difference to your ranking. Really?!

Either way it really isn't a good step in the direction of progress and Google getting the quality they so often bang on about.

From some of the Google search results I've seen it looks like buying a random domain not related to your niche and uploading content related to your niche on it is the way forward.

Also seeing a lot of results that show one site in the results (non-niche domain) then redirect to an online store within that niche when clicked on. Some form of cloaking I believe? (I'm not au fait with things of that nature).
 
After this update my site tanked about 60-80% ... Lost all keywords, content was really really good, links were fine,almost all links were from related niche websites...

Now im thinking what to do... just to wait or to quit , adding more content is funny cause i see no point anymore..

I'm fine with how Google is going, it has clearly smoked all the newbies out the water. My sites just keep going up.

well, you've clearly not looked into why they are ranking enough, you've just thrown your dummy out the pram and cried because G slapped you.

Yeah don't waste your money on content, and don't wait either. You say 60-80 and 100% in the same breath? Which was it? If it was the first, see why some still rank and the others don't.

Get an A3 piece of paper and make a huge list.

You ain't alone and it keeps getting worse by the day. I have always done everything right when it comes to on page SEO. At least, to the best of my understanding.

Great content with a minimum of 1000 words explaining the main topic, h2 and h3 headings, meta title, meta description Et cetera.

Yet, traffic is going really down by the day. I am waiting till the site probably stops getting traffic from Google completely. The worse thing is, nothing I've tried doing to fix the situation seem to be working. It's as though I am just wasting time sitting in front of my computer all day every day trying to fix what could be fixed.

I've tried building more quality links, even received some recently from related blogs yet, ain't seeing the impact at all.

I am really confused. If only a valid solution can be shared.

I hate these updates!!! I added good content, social bookmarks and white hat directory links to my site and Google treats me like this!!!

Thank you Meenakshi.. though, I am worried about Cache 404. How do I make sure that any onsite changes/edit has any impact or Google crawled after any webpage changes.

I can proudly say that my website has enough original content. No spam, or keyword stuffing. Though, I confess that my website has less backlinks, which might be the factor. For me backlinks are not the issues. I am worried about 404 cache error, which Google is still showing.

I just want to know how can I make sure that Google cache my webpage on a x-date.

Crawl as google using webmaster tools...

A thought from a noob

Perhaps this algorithm change affected backlinks pool more than money sites
Got them tanked or even added some toxicity to it
 
As an Ecomm clothing business I saw a -6% drop in our Organic traffic so nowhere near the volumes some websites have seen. However some of the well performing keywords which led to our Blog pages have suffered. Since these pages are primarily fashion advice it could be related to how Google views the user intent- are they looking to buy or looking to be informed.

I just read Neil Patel one, interesting article, especially about pruning content. My site was huge in 2015-2016, but today is almost nothing left. My site has a lot of "duplicate content" although each of them is unique, because I was targeting similar meaning keyword with different wording.

By that time, I still don't know much about this part in SEO and also at the time this technique was acceptable and okay, in a single search result, sometime my site appeared multiple times. Good time, but by the time going, this technique less and less desired by Google, and I too reluctant to prune my site because this site WAS SUCCESSFUL, so I thought something else must be wrong, because I also seeing my competitors doing fine with this.

Time goes by, my site hitting rock bottom, although my competitor still survive and going strong with this "duplicate content", one think I realize about this, targeting similar meaning keyword is still okay as long as your site has thousands articles. My site has 700+ articles, by the time it lost its magic it was 400 (adding 300 in 2 years). My competitor has at least 2k-3k article and consistently adding 2-5 articles each day. So I think unless I can add that much article each day, I have to choose the keyword carefully.

Very useful. People's theories, as always, are all over the place on these without anyone providing any convicinving evidence to me as to what was sepcifically targeted. Though I believe, long, quality content was less affected than all other sites.

A small tweak did it for me. It all started on july 25th. The site was almost dying having lost 1/4th of its traffic in. It immediately recovered after the changes were done and the traffic is at an all-time high now :)
