Amazon must clarify 'misleading' delivery claim

In the UK Amazon Prime is fucked, they either don't have enough delivery drivers or the delivery companies just don't give a fuck.

I cancelled my prime a couple of years ago because I was never receiving any thing with next day delivery, stuff was arriving faster by post, you know things are screwed when the Royal Mail deliver faster.

My Wife decided to try Prime again last month and nearly every delivery has had a problem and never arrived on time.

They need to lower the price of Prime in the UK because it is a rip-off compared to the US

I only use Prime to stock up on stuff when I am about to leave the country. I've had two trial memberships, and everything has been delivered the next day as promised. Maybe they are offering a better service to people on trial memberships in hopes of converting them into customers

To be honest Asif, I completely disagree.

We have had a Prime membership for years now and I would say the amount of things that don't arrive next day is really low for us. I have noticed that this has changed somewhat in the past few weeks but that is with items that are clearly labelled "Prime" with expected delivery of 2-3 days or something like that. I generally skirt straight past the longer delivery items and go next day only as I am absolutely impatient.

I have seen Amazon getting a lot of flack in the press recently but we share our Prime account and the others using the account have never had any issues. Also whenever an item has arrived late and we have called them about it they will generally give a free month of Prime and have sent out another item the same day as well.

I realise it totally depends on where in the world you are and what the products being ordered are but delivery has always been bang on for us, when it hasn't it is usually due to the delivery company.

I also make use of Prime video regularly for my kids, they have loads of stuff that is ideal for kids.

Amazon Prime shipments not arriving on time is GREAT! Just email them to complain, and they will extend your prime membership by 1 month for free. I've gotten at least a free year of Prime this way.

I've also heard if you complain more than usual you can get the free month plus a $5 or $10 credit on your Amazon account.

It seriously just takes a couple of minutes to get the free month. I don't know how much you have to complain to get an extra couple of bucks.

The thing that pisses me off is that I live less than 3 miles from the Local Amazon Prime Delivery Office, this is in West London, not some out of the way village in the middle of nowhere.
Anyway, glad it works for you. I have to say I love Amazon and the customer service is great but it is just the delivery/Prime part of it that drives me round the bend.
I think it is just because they don't want to risk parking up and getting a ticket so they leave it for somebody else the next day, but then they do the same so the delivery eventually ends up being returned.

I know that feeling, I am really impatient to the point of absurdity when it comes to buying stuff online. You could be right about the delivery drivers not wanting to get a ticket or something along those lines being the cause.

I have no idea where the warehouses for Amazon are in the great United States of Britland but I can guarantee they are absolutely nowhere near me.

And their stellar customer service has led me to plenty of refunds on products that were damaged or incorrect without question or even the need for returning.

Amazon is the poster child for both efficiency and optimization in countless industries. No other company in history has seen struggles present in everyday life and expanded into that sector to make life simpler for the consumer like Amazon has.

Sucks that your experiences have been subpar. But remember, not long ago, receiving a package in a week was an incredible feat.
