Hey guys, I've started a facebook ads campagin for these past 2 days, marketing a women's bags
e-commerce store with no success. I am pretty new to the domain but I was hoping to at least break even, and not lose money on the ads.

I'll try to give you a quick rundown on the details.I'm in the romanian market, so my main niche is women between the ages 18 and 44, and I'm puting the bags at prices cheaper than dirt 60-80 RON(equi~15-20$), some good looking good quality fashion bags mind you, I have a pretty quick site load time, a great site interface and user experience, some good SEO, anything you can ask for really, and I've set up the facebook campaign without any hitches or problems, but I just can't seem to make a single conversion. I've got ~300 site clicks these past 2 days, and ~220 post engagments.

I've spent 120RON (30$) so far, I was hoping at least for a modest rate of 5$ per conversion, which would put me at zero, but I am in the minus, and I'm not sure how to remedy the issue. \

What advice do you marketing connoisseurs have for me, I would be in your debt for any help.:weep:

If this is cold audience - first time seeing you ads or your brand you will have low conversion.
Try different approach, create some article about women bags being cheap but good quality or something like that, target same audience, after they read article create new ads and retargeting them.

How much do bags sell for in the markets (not fancy stores, I mean open/outside markets) ? Because that's pretty much your biggest competition.

To me they look like generic bags, but then again I'm a dude... and I'm not really into bags. But meh. https://aleasa.ro/

Also, is it normal for people/women in Romania to spend money online? How much do they normally spend online? You probably want to target women over 25... would women between 25 and 44 want a little school backpack ? I can't remember the last time I saw a grown woman that wasn't in school carry a backpack.

Sometimes a product just isn't the right fit... in those cases, you find new products and you test those instead. Sometimes you need to test 50 products to find 1 that converts well.

See what the competition is doing on facebook;

Do some research and look at the competition, i won't go into details as others have given some pretty good advice. But what i will say is that ift's your first campaign I wouldn't expect a high return, I'm running a couple different dropship stores myself (sun glasses and watches) took a couple of month before I started making a worthwhile profit.. Comments are generally a good place to start, if there is interest in your product there will be comments (peope tagging friends, asking price, shipping time etc). Otherwise move on and target elsewhere. It's all trial and error at this stage so it will take some time before you get things right. Very few people succeed first time around.

The thing is I only got general advice, and nothing specific to my problem, problem that I don't even know what it is. Also I'm getting blacklisted as a spam bot so sorry for everyone for not replying.

I am not asking you to show your website but i think you really need to rethink about your website overall user experience like if its even look legit and trust able to buy?

To user IamNRE

A competitor site is Adona dot ro, hover over "Genti Dama" and click on "Rucsacuri Dama". Our prices are very competitive i.e. cheap, I didn't think I would've made any sales if my prices where any higher, but even when they're this cheap there's no movement. I would be netting 5$ profit per bag if they sold.(advertisment cost excluded)

Regarding the e-commerce world here in Romania, it has been flourishing for the last couple years, and is still on the rise, especially women's apparel. Also a lot of women, ages 20+, wear these types of cute little backpacks, I'm not sure how it is abroad, but they are in vogue here.

Also nice car, is it an x5 or 6? looks badass regardless

IamNRE cited my website in his comment above, and I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Do you want to say that it is too untrustable?

I think you are getting general advice only is because your problem can be a lot of things, some of them others pointed out:
Facebook campaing problem - wrong audience, facebook ad groups problems, facebook ads problems, website problems - like design, speed, user experience. Problem with offer, problem with products... If selling something is easy we all would be rich AF.

So start from scratch, make a list if there are things that can be improved, check everything and test. Btw 30$ is low ad spend.

Good luck

<- He gave you the solution.
Also I'm not sure if you're a man, but you're advertising like a man. They are women and care less about price than you do, you're trying to make money so you're thinking everyone wants a cheap deal, but that's not the case.

Listen to @InWire.Agency and you'll see conversions.

Do you think women actually bother reading boring fashion blogs(genuine question)? I'm not sure how effective or easy it is to combine a blog to an e-commerce site, but I'll try it out. First time I hear about it.

I was also considering a phone text message marketing campaign, I bought a sim card, I'll find a way to get women's phone numbers, but I'll have to find a way to automate the procces since i'll be sending thousands per day. I'll have to connect the sim card to my laptop.

Also have to wait for the adwords display network to approve my images. Fucking assholes have been making me wait for 12 hours, but hey it's a weekend, what can you do.

Start text messaging, collect the phone number from school/college etc

Many services offer SMS marketing at a scale, and its automated. Just it's paid.

I think you're going to waste your money, you're trying to shove down your product down the throat of people who don't know anything about them. It's like going to random people in the street and saying " YOU WANT SEX ?" and wondering why its not working out.

Follow what @InWire.Agency said, write an article about how your bag are disrupting the market or something. Then publish it on some Romanian website (news or fashion), and promote that . Then retarget and promote to the women who clicked on that ad to show your bags.

Also check your frequency, I'm pretty sure you're showing ads to people once or twice only. It takes about 7 to 20 times to make a conversion. If i flash a product in front of your face for half a second once, would you run to the store to buy it ? No, then why would your market ? Start to think like a human being.

Follow the advices, and you'll get conversion.

I wouldn't advise to integrate the blog onto your e-commerce website.. Create a separate blog and just push it to the same audience. You could even index and rank it if you want but a review on the e-commerce site would be completely pointless in my opinion as consumers don't tend to trust the retailers, they like an outside opinion. Another piece of advice I can give you is to run video ads.. buy some of your products and make some nice professional videos, I invested in a cheap slider for my iphone just filmed them myself and edited in final cut. They convert much better than regular photo ads in my experience. I also never push photo ads to Insta as had little success... I prefer FB for dropship ping overall but buying story posts from good insta pages has made me a lot of money recently so it's worth looking into.

Also if your pushing your products as premium, advertise as though they are on sale but be realistic (30%-40% max) no one is going to believe a $200 bag is selling for $20. Be creative with your product names as well and make them unique, you don't want a potential customer googling your product and finding it on AliExpress or a competitors website, you want them to find your review on your blog ;)

I've done this numerous times with the review blogs and it works great, a lot of work but it can pay off if you know what you're doing, I don't even link back to my main store because it's pointless as my product names are unique.

For the record I am by no means an expert and offering my advice based purely on my own experience. But the best advice I can give you is don't give up... If you put the time and effort in it will all come together in the end
