or a good place (aside of facebook ads) to promote mobile games.

You can try admob, mopub and universal app campaign by using Google Ads

I would recommend you to contact some popular YouTuber and let them play your game to make advertising. Best way to contact them is via Instagram and some of them have an e-mail address in their channel.
