Is this domain GOLD?

Have been looking for an expired domain. It's for a new website I am about to start.
And found one with following stats.

In Ahrefs:

• UR14; DR13
• Backlinks 4.56k (99% do follow) - that 99 % are from two different Web2.0 (sitewide image).
• Referring Domain 74

In majestic:

• Trust Flow: 3
• Citation Flow: 13

It has do follow links from:

• HuffingtonPost.com (at the end of nice article).
• hollywoodreporter.com
• marketwired.com
• startribune.com
• gawker.com
• digitaljournal.com
• wnd.com
• Many other reputable news websites.
• Few decent (many pages) old Web2.0.

It has No-Follow links from:

• foxnews.com

* Anchor Looks clean by clean I mean no viagra, no porn, sex etc... And all is English!

* In way back machine everything looks good, it was the legit website with mostly video content on it. But for past 4 years, the domain was just blank not used at all. Now the owner has placed it on auction.

* The domain is on auction for very good price (xx$) and is indexed in google (I found it in google but it has godaddy auction page as homepage). Godaddy tells me the estimated value is 1015$

* The domain is 9 years old.



As a total newbie in SEO could someone experienced please help me with following questions:

1. The domain was about politics channel niche but I am planning to start a website about health & food. Is it okay, will it benefit website in my niche?
2. Why it got such a low TF and is it even important?
3. All links on those news websites are from 2010-2013 is it good or bad?
4. What else should I check before buying it?

Rule of thumb,

Don't trust anything that the godaddy domain evaluator says.

Not a true from of evaluation. Just a script that pulls some ranking data and assigns a number to it

I say it is worth no more than $50, however it all comes down to the domain name, if it's a short high volume one word .com domain, then it might be worth a grand or even more.

It's probably decent. Auction domains can easily get overpriced though.

Can use an expired domain for a money site in a different niche as long as the domain name can be branded in a logical way.

TF is helpful for screening but not magic.

Links from 5+ years ago are good as long as they're still live.

If it seems like it used to be a real site with real backlinks from real news sites it's generally going to be decent. If you PM me the domain could check it out and let you know if there's anything that might not be obvious.

Looks alright to me. Few things:

- It's cheap, because people go after TF. Big buyers like me don't really have time to go through every domain added to the auctions and you have to draw the line somewhere. This one has low TF and thus probably went under the radar.
- Don't forget to check hosting history and domaintools screenshots as well. Same goes for historic anchors.
- The older the link is, the better.
- TF doesn't matter much, but TF 3 (I presume at the root level) is really low, no idea why, I would have to see the domain. Backlinks look great though, so definitely go for it. If it's really clean, then it's a really nice snatch.

I can't my moz is 0/10 tries until next month, id love to see myself..

I checked out the site. The backlinks are definitely clean/not spammy, so if that's one of your main considerations, then that's definitely a plus.

While there are real backlinks from major news sites, the articles do seem to be somewhat obscure (i.e., probably not front page articles). Regardless, they're still decent backlinks and the site would work decently as a PBN or money site. Gold? No. Decent? Yes.

The real question then is cost. The current bid on GoDaddy is $12 USD (which is what any .com domain is going to cost to register) and no one's bid on it. The "Estimated Value" of $1,015 USD is... way too much. If no one else goes for it, you might take it. Don't get into some bidding war, though. You can find non-auction domains of similar quality. If you just want the metrics/backlinks, it's nothing too amazing.

Regardless, if you like it and don't want to spend more time looking for domains (especially if you like the brand/domain name -- finding an expired domain name relevant to your niche that you actually like can be tricky), might even be worth $50-$100 for your personal use case. Really, the main question is how much you like that URL/domain.

Based on the domain name, it should be easy enough to rebrand it. Might be a little awkward, but if you took the time to add in some custom graphics and make the domain name work with the new site, you'd be fine.

Appreciate ur quality answer regarding my issue. I just never saw anything better than this so I was amazed by these backlinks.
I am not really in love with the name of the domain, not my style, so I think I'll just take it to build quality PBN on it.
