hello, I am a total newbie at SEO and want to understand this the following :
Sometime ago I found a tumblr blog (high PA : 54+) that redirects to an adult web site instaid of making articles and putting the links.
does this method pass link juce or it is bad for SEO .
I know a lot of people use web 2.0s . some of them put the link in description and others put links in the articles. But I didn't think that redirecting the page to the desired web site is an option.
SO the question is : how good is this method compared to putting articles in the web 2.0

a redirect will send more power than a link, but this is an old-fashioned method that I personally avoid; and it seems not to work too well nowadays.

It's done via a simple code in Htaccess or header.

why do you avoid it if it sends more power than a link? does it have some drawbacks that prevent you from using it ?

a redirect is known to send most of the domain link juice to its target, but it is supposed to be done genuinely; so let's say I have a business and a website, but now I want to use a new domain and make a new site, for the same business; so I use a redirect, this is how it is supposed to be used.

using redirects by buying expired domains that redirect to your money sites is not the way it is supposed to be used, and is against google's guidelines; I would not be surprised if google can determine how genuine a 301 is, this is a technique from 10+ years ago; at most use only 1 per site, not multiples.
