Bought Flippa site. Haven't gotten it. Feeling anxious.

About 24 hours ago I won a website on Flippa, From the looks of it, the site was created only two months ago. From the looks of it, it seemed user-friendly and well designed, the inventory seemed skimpy but I figure that in time I can generate revenue and traffic through the bing ad vouchers.

The only problem is that after the sale went through, the seller doesn't seem to be very responsive at all. Other sites from this seller have sold since I won the site but have not received any information on when I would receive it, in fact, the seller has not even viewed my messages. I figured he was reputable because he has a five-star rating, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll even get it.

Is it common for flippa sellers to wait over 24 hours to transfer their sites?

At that price you either got scammed or are dealing with someone unorganized. I took a look at the site, it's a shopify template site seemingly whipped up as fast as they could as there's design responsiveness errors so i'd give it another day before being concerned. Without knowing any details it's probably just someone who tried to make a shop and failed and is recouping costs.

I can't speak for Flippa sellers but sometimes I do sell sites myself and it takes longer than 24 hour for me to respond or setup a transfer due to other tasks and business. And again, I can't speak for this or any Flippa seller, but if you bought a website from me for just $17 I'll do more profitable or important tasks first.

I took a look at the sellers flippa profile, he seems like a template reseller.

I would say there's almost a 100% chance you didn't get scammed. He sold a website 3 days ago for $80 that uses the exact same template you purchased. I won't link it here so that no one can link back to you. He relisted the domain that you bought at a lower price, but I can't find the previous price on flippa. My guess is that no one was buying it so he just sold the domain to purchase a different one.

You're fine, give it another day or two. He's recouping costs on the failed domain name and is just going to buy a different domain, host the same template on it and resell it.

In retrospect thanks for giving me a new side business as I literally do web development for a living and have tons of premium templates sitting around.

Yeah sorry i've learnt that i'm pretty bad at summarizing. Domains cost approx. $13 USD? I'm Canadian so it's a bit more for me. Anyways $17 covers the price of the domain. Basically the guy is recovering the costs so that he can buy a different domain and try again. It's actually a really smart business model.

When I say templates don't feel like it's not worth anything, the chance that someone will run into two websites with the same templates is basically zero.

From past experience some buyers I bought from took over a week to finally get a response from them. Just keep urging them and daily send them at least one message works for me. Let me know if you need more help, been on Flippa and done a lot of mistakes and learnt from them.

Wait, are you paying $30 monthly? If that's through shopify then that's fine. If that's for general hosting you're probably getting scammed.

For someone like him he's only paying $13-14 USD per domain, and then he just runs it off a server he already has. In my case I have servers that cost $5-10 per month from amazon that can run multiple websites each, so an operation like his would literally only cost me the price of the domain.

His entire model is just based off someone liking the domain and paying for it. You got a great deal, especially if you're new to web development. Having a fully set up store for $17 is fantastic as a learning experience. One of his reviews made it sound like he sets up the store for you, so I would ask him about that just in case.
