Newbies bumping their post count in introductions

This has been a common problem in a while... newbies boosting their post count in the introduction section. It's for me personally pretty annoying, so can there be done something to solve this?

Users like @andy.webmaster are posting the same reply over and over again.

My curiosity forced me to check this thread. I am relieved to see "that newbie" isn't me!

I already issued that user an infraction.

@Festinger, we've had quite a few threads on this topic before. The general consensus is that even though it's annoying, post count inflation in that section is obvious enough for anyone to spot and report. If we disabled post count in that section, these people would just go on to spam the other subforums.

Can you just report these members instead of posting about them here?

JoeOKracing wasn't as bad about spamming the introductions section as andy.webmaster was.

There was a member who was posting the same content in all sales thread. All sales thread were for same service, should we report such cases as well ?

That depends on what they've posting. If they're posting the exact same review or order confirmation number, report it. If they're cross-posting in sales threads (e.g., ordering from one sales thread, but posting the same order confirmation/review in all of the seller's sales thread), report that as well. If they're spamming review copy/trial requests, report it.

The op will post the number of review / trial copies they are willing to give away, if any, and will provide the criteria they require to get a review / trial copy (often these are only for Jr. VIP accounts).

That last rule is broken in most cases even by old members.

I'm aware. I went through the marketplace last week and removed a plethora of review copy/trial requests.

While not something I'd encourage, it's not explicitly prohibited on the forum. However, if the replies are both excessive and short (rule 3.5), or if you think a user is posting fake service inquiries just to boost their post count (and yes, I've caught people doing this before), then feel free to send in a report and one of us will look into it.

3.5 engaging in post count inflation by posting excessive amounts of short replies for the sole purpose of inflating your post count. This includes the infamous “thanks for the share.” . (If you’d like to say “thanks” to someone for their effort/contribution, make use of the Thanks button).

Anyway, I've already answered @Festinger's question above and at this juncture, we're not even discussing post count inflation in the introductions section.
