Google removes "don't be evil" clause from its code of conduct

I didn't read that particular article but that was a week or so ago when that came out.

The phrase is now, "Do the right thing" or something similar.

Hardly a major change in my opinion and much ado about nothing.
 
Meh. I guess they realised what they were saying was "don't do anything that a number of people might not like". And now they realised thats a stupid policy.

Hmm, yea, so that makes it a bit broader I suppose because they can say "its the right thing [for us] because XYZ."
 
I always though it was a coding joke. I guess not many people understood it.
