Also you should look at learning about Javascript, and potentially a web development stack (Ruby on Rails or the Microsoft stack).

Long Answer in Short:
1) HTTP and TCP/IP
2) Javascript and another web dev stack (such as Microsoft (ASP.NET and MVC)
3) Then finally check out APIs and other formats of data modeling for exchange between computer systems! (JSON, XML, etc.)

Overkill.
Don't get me wrong, if you really want to understand from the top to the bottom how webapplications work, you are absolutely right. But for OP this would be just overkill. He knew HTML and learning now how HTTP and TCP/IP protocol works will give him zero advantage at this moment. Same for the rest what you have written, again it is something that you should know and understand if you are a full stack developer but for OP who only know HTML and wants to make a quick buck here and there, this is just way too much.


@OP:
My 2 cents: You already know HTML, learn CSS3 so you can give your HTML templates a decent style. Really important (!) to learn responsive webdesign, this is literally THE most important thing today. Once you know these things you will need to build a resume. A good start is this forum here - simply offer your skill for free for very small projects like a responsive one-page landing page. By doing so, you will get more experience in developing and also build real projects that you can use as your resume. After a few of these, offer your skill either here in the marketplace or somewhere else for cash.

And after all of that if you are REALLY interested in software development, you can start learning what Indigo Junior wrote.

I would guess it is nearly impossible to earn good money from developing html.
The reason is simple: the rules of economy...

You do not need any special skills to learn html, there are generators and even bots nowadays. So the supply of html likes of „code“ is near Infinity.
The demand for html developers is constant but definitely lesser then the supply.

As usual you will need something special and a more unique skill to earn money.

2: HTML5+CSS3+Javascript+PHP+Wordpress Core = beautiful Wordpress themes = earn millions on Themeforest etc places

Maybe both, no idea, but if you got that "high level" skill, money is not the problem.

I think you should look at html as a basic language that will help you understand faster other, more useful ones.
Take maybe a project that uses CSS, JS, HTML5 and learn by solving your problems on the way.
Best way to learn is to actually use it.

HTML,CSS & Vanilla JS. People jump into frameworks far to quickly without understanding the basics.
Then move onto something like VUE or React and for backend, Node.

Check upwork or fiverr but my personal advice to you is that you need to learn something new which is used today not in the 90s
