Websites that only load hypertext, images, titles, and plain text?

I'm having trouble finding a thread that has some solid explanation. I know it's a common issue. Is it server-side, something to do with dns, stylesheets, or local ad blockers? If it is a browser or PC issue is there anything I can do to prevent it? I never experience it with a project site, but I'm seeing it now on my employer's.

Probably my issue but what is the question? You can't see website style? Did you check your css file or it's integration in your Pages?

It's usually from missing stylesheet (css file), which was either not downloaded or rendered. It's usually from browser, clear cache memory and cookies.

Yes sorry I tried to include an example image but I believe I'm restricted as a newbie. The site just renders text. However sometimes it loads correctly so it's difficult to troubleshoot.

My main questions is this.. Is there anyway I can prevent this from contributing to bounce rate? Many prospective clients will just peg this as a site error.

Well there's no need to even think about bounce rate if you can solve the root issue. Like some have already mentioned, it's probably from a missing CSS file. It's tough to diagnose, however, without knowing more. Is the website served over https? Is it using a CDN? Also, open up Chrome developer tools and check the console for error messages.

Ok, got it. The website is served over h t t p s, and I will need to find out if he is using a CDN (I would guess so. I imagine one of the "Google" guys he's paid has sold him on website speed.). I will try to re-create the issue so I can check for error messages.

Could it potentially be that the CSS file being called is over-written in the html file because it is ranked poorly in the header tag, or does the fact that it is not a consistent error rule that out?

Yes, you need to request only https resources. So first make sure the resources are available over https, and if they are, then go into the source and change the http to https. This should solve your mixed content issues.

Thanks so much for the help. I wrote a thread in "Website Flipping" titled 10 tips for flippa as a thank you to give back. I'll mark this as solved if I can change the title.

One other thing I'm wondering is, sure when prospects in this niche see an apparently "broken" webpage, it's not likely they'll convert... but, I'm also wondering if this would have a negative impact on Adwords placement.. even if the bid is right, I'm sure Google has an algorithm to avoid placing "broken" sites ?

Use the developer tools on your browser. Open the site. You will see the error that occurs. Could be like resource xyz.css or bootstrap.js not found or http://pathtocdncontent not found.
Change the path or put the files to the location and recheck. Most probably you will need to clear the cache before reloading the page to see the result of your changes.

I don't think that's necessary. But you could always just go into G's Search Console and submit the URL for re-crawling. Like you said, it couldn't hurt. And you're welcome
