Why I no longer post about psychic experiences here

Just 1 correction, imho. :)

Qi gong, neikung, meditation were all developed as sciences to explore the mind's relation with the sub- and the super-conscious (mind). Period.

In meditation you try to tame the mind, tie it down or move out of its hold, free yourself, so it doesn't distract, and then 'you' move deeper.

I am sure of that about meditation. And they are not sciences, as the word is defined by society, the word should be para-sciences, again imho.

Now, the world has began to understand the human mind. Some day in future, it will be able to understand the subconscious, and then the knowledge of super conscious will be open, to very few initially, of course.

Just my 2 cents!

yo man, here's the one thing I don't get about you: WHY ARE YOU ASHAMED OF BEING BETTER, SPECIAL AND MORE UNIQUE THAN OTHERS?!

I mean if it's the truth, you're manipulating us with all this 'everyone is unique in their own way haha' bullshit.

Be genuine bro, say I'M BETTER THAN YOU @ScribScribScrib AND YOU CAN BE AS ANGRY AS YOU WANT ABOUT IT, BUT IT'S THE FUCKING TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't throw your own ego away like that, he is an important part of the human psyche, fuck those telling you otherwise, you're special and that's what makes you better than this world.
Hahah, I appreciate it bro, but the truth is, with very few exceptions, most people who earnestly practice and try to develop psychic abilities do - to the best of their ability. I'm not sugar coating it or anything - because that would be wasting people's time.
It's not just you who makes this grievous mistake. That said, it is a really grievous mistake. Here's why:

The difference between science and everything else is that in science the only credential is the method. The method. Nothing else.

There is no priest class whose members have exclusive access to the truth. There are no qualifications that bar anyone from touching the truth via the method.

This is what science is. Your argument is either right or wrong. If you're highborn, lowborn, rich, poor, with a degree, without one, of race X, of race Y, does not matter in the slightest.

Read this, read it again and make sure you drill it deep in your head. Because this is the core, the essential, the utmost quality of science that elevates it above all.

Another interesting point to understand is the reason why most people do this mistake. Most people are not deeply familiar with the epistemology of science. Most people think it terms of hierarchies - your boss, your priest, your parents etc. because that's how humanity used to operate for millennia. And they seek truth in those hierarchies - and hierarchies mean a "priest" class with exclusive access to it. So it is understandable. But once you know, it is irresponsible (at best) to revert back to these behaviors.
Okay, this is actually something I kind of gripe about.

In theory, you're right - the scientific method can be applied by anyone and it shouldn't matter who you are. But in practice, there's a pretty good reason why only people in certain scientific journals, repositories (I mentioned Nature for physics and chemistry) get funding. There's also a pretty good reason why people would be INCREDIBLY skeptical about any claims I make about discovering...for example...certain properties of prime numbers if I only have a bachelor's degree in math. It's because, without training, most people fall into certain psychological traps that have already been addressed over and over again throughout human history.

So, I'm not falling into the "appeal to authority" trap, I'm simply stating that I find it insulting that someone who dropped out of high school and never spent a day of his life doing science in a research lab has such a powerful influence on the mainstream acceptance of reality.

Einstein also dropped out of high school - but he was a SCIENTIST who actually bothered to learn about current research in his field and submitted his work into peer reviewed journals. Does that sound like something James Randi does?

In theory, you're right - the scientific method can be applied by anyone and it shouldn't matter who you are. But in practice

Nope, stop right there. That's a false dichotomy. Science isn't in an ivory tower in the clouds. There is no theory and practice. There is the method. The method is created to be applied. Otherwise, it has zero value. Therefore, you either follow the method by applying it perfectly (science) - or you don't (not science). It's a binary thing. Like pregnancy.

, there's a pretty good reason why only people in certain scientific journals, repositories (I mentioned Nature for physics and chemistry) get funding.

Obviously when you want to do a specific job, you want to hire the people who do it for a living.

There's also a pretty good reason why people would be INCREDIBLY skeptical about any claims I make about discovering

People should be incredibly skeptical about literally everything. That they are not, comes down to two reasons: time and stupidity. But, that said, being skeptical does not mean that I reject a priori your assumed discovery. Skeptical means "show me the proof and if the proof stands the test, you sir have made a discovery - congrats". That's what skepticism actually is. The openness to being persuaded by science.

...for example...certain properties of prime numbers if I only have a bachelor's degree in math. It's because, without training, most people fall into certain psychological traps that have already been addressed over and over again throughout human history.

That's true. If you're not a mathematician, it is really hard to read a proof and have an opinion on its validity. That though (your lack of a degree in say pure mathematics) does in no-way block a math enthusiast who gives the time to learn the material from actually forming a good opinion on the validity of said proof.

But, of course, that takes time and pain. Which brings us to the point of "well, I do not have infinite time - now what?". The answer to that is skepticism. Doubt everything until you can understand its proof.

So, I'm not falling into the "appeal to authority" trap,

But you did. That's why I'm posting.

I'm simply stating that I find it insulting that someone who dropped out of high school and never spent a day of his life doing science in a research lab has such a powerful influence on the mainstream acceptance of reality.

How dare he :)

Well, it's simple. He presents his argument, his methods of approaching the validation/invalidation of the experiment. And it so happens that his methods are really in line with the method of science. So, assuming strict adherence (and I say assuming because obviously I was not there to check), his results are really solid. Now compare that to someone who doesn't use the method of science, guess who wins out in my book.

Einstein also dropped out of high school - but he was a SCIENTIST

And there you go again :)

Everyone who uses the method of science is a scientist. That's the only requirement. No room for priesthood.

who actually bothered to learn about current research in his field and submitted his work into peer reviewed journals.

A peer reviewed journal is a magazine that requires committee approval before printing articles from contributors. If you don't write an article for printing, what are you going to have printed there?

Does that sound like something James Randi does?

Randi isn't writing articles. He's using the scientific method to validate/invalidate claims. Sure, he could wrap them in article format and send them to the printer. That's your gripe?

How can you say it's a false dichotomy when CLEARLY that's how modern science operates bro?? Yes, I completely understand how it's supposed to work - but we're humans. Even in the most pristine conditions - which we do not operate under - humans ALWAYS form hierarchies and biases. That's just how the we operate. We do our best to overcome these biases and there are whole fields dedicated to understanding them...but they still exist.

Now we can go back and forth but I'll just tell you what I've always said - if you want to see whether or not I'm bullshitting, try it for yourself. One week is all it should really take. The best evidence will come directly from you, and it's not at all difficult to get it.

That's the beautiful thing about psi - nobody owns it or ever will. At worst, you'll just have wasted a few hours right ;).

Where is watermelons ?
Well, the short version is as follows: I got a ton of them, but they were too small to sell. So I'm experimenting with about a third of my crop last time and added manure, etc... and seeing how they develop. It's been raining a ton over here. Also, I put down a ton of pineapples. I keep meaning to take a picture + post stats. I will :). Also we're building a house lol, so that has been taking a bunch of energy.

Okay, I took a while to respond to this because it's quite complex.

The truth is, there is a lot of debate in the occult community about the different minds - if there are even concrete differences. Additionally, there's also a lot of discussion about whether chi is an objective force outside of the mind or if it manifests spontaneously through awareness/concentration. I simply don't know. My personal opinion is that different minds - conscious, subconscious, super conscious, etc... are just different states of the same thing. It can operate on just one or all levels. I think chi is as objective as gravity or electricity - that's not an opinion my own teacher holds, he believes all things are a manifestation of mind..

Can you make wine or brandy with them and sell that?

Well... bro, you're wrong here as well. There is no modern and old science. There is the method. You either follow the method or you don't. That's all there is. In case you're missing it, the "follow" part is the practical. Without application, the method is of no value. Hence, you either follow the method (in which case, congrats, you are a person of science) or you don't (well...).

Yes, I completely understand how it's supposed to work - but we're humans.

And that's why we rely on the scientific method. Because we are not perfect. And the method provides us imperfect being a yardstick, with which we measure our intellectual effectiveness.

Even in the most pristine conditions - which we do not operate under - humans ALWAYS form hierarchies and biases.

For one, there is no bias in mathematics. It is either proven, or it is not.

That said, of course the can be bias in the application of the method. And here's why the scientific method shines. Because the method is robust, if you act in a biased way, I have the absolute way (the method) to call you out on your shit. And actually prove your shit to other people who follow the method.

Now we can go back and forth but I'll just tell you what I've always said - if you want to see whether or not I'm bullshitting, try it for yourself. One week is all it should really take. The best evidence will come directly from you, and it's not at all difficult to get it.

That's cool and all and if we were neighbors, I'd take you up on your offer. I'm not so sure you would accept though :)

That's a great idea man...marketing is the main issue.

So, I went around to a BUNCH of restaurants to offer them for fruit salads because they really were quite sweet. The people who ate them loved them - unfortunately all of the buyers didn't want the hassle of trying a new product and only bought melons that were >4kgs. Someone had also flooded the local market - which isn't a big deal because Nairobi is close by but I got discouraged with the buyer response and figured it would be worse in the main city.

Honestly, if I could get them to a nice, big size I could sell them by the shipload without a problem. I don't really want to experiment with drugs and want to keep them organic...but I'm not sure at the moment.

Of course I have no idea about your local economy but it they were good for fruit salads, how about selling ready made salads to delis, restaurants, street vendors and the like?

Hey Pewep you are the resident Fox Mulder here, what is your thoughts about remote viewing? And if you constantly are able to tell people like when the phone will ring or events like that, is that some type of near event

esp or can you really tell the future? Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Sometimes you get a little burned.

@pewep. At first, you made my blood pressure rise but then I realize you love what you do. How am I to sit here and say what you did happen or didn't take place. You have been a positive member of BHW and just be you no matter what. I see lounge posts about a lot of things I don't agree with but then again we all have the right to disagree. Hope your finding peace in your life and find my positive in your life than negative!

You mean you are currently somewhere near Nairobi? I should find you and buy some watermelons though I don't agree with all your notions. :)

Well let's be honest. You talked about evidence a lot in your post. Yet you still didn't post any evidence to back up the threads you made. The videos where you are trying to move objects while also using a fan doesn't count as evidence. Then if I remember, there was another video of a dude trying to move the water in ocean. Again, it was the wind causing it and not the guy.

For getting big customers, you can always use your mind powers. Nothing wrong in using it to gain in business, which will in turn allow you to grow spiritually more. Even all the big-time success stories have a big-time place for using mind powers in making their success stories! I'm sure Bill (Gates) has used his mind powers in the biggest possible way, lol, hence he has a great success story to tell! Also, I think he will get a great palace to live and a great life to enjoy up there in the Paradise Street!

You be as much a great success story, as if not bigger than Bill Gates' story in your real life, @pewep!

Long ago, BHW and pewep lived in harmony. Then, everything changed when James Randi did science. Only pewep, master of qi gong, could save them. But when BHW needed him most, he vanished.
