[HELP] 'Browser Automation Studio - Instagram - What To Use For Hearts And Comments?

Hi!
So BAS used to work great with instagram, but I'm kind of new with it still.

The issue I have is that the automation part locks up on the liking or commenting parts randomly. And I dont know if I should use move and click on element/type text with CSS, Match, Xpath or at? It's confusing me since the name of CoreHeartSprite changes sometimes so I dont know if theres a consistent way to make it click and comment.

Would super appreciate some guidance on this and hope it will help some other people as well!

A small update researching around a bit; I've worked around it temporarily by using is element exist. Then adding an if and else block that searches through the two types of hearts and two types of comments. The only thing that would break it is if neither of the two types are found. It adds a lot of unorganized looking slots imo but maybe this is the way to go, not sure.

Btw all of the types im searching for is the MATCH function.

i usually use xpath . instagram changes their classes and ids a lot but they don't change the structure of the page so this helps a little bit , you just need to choose a good xpath expression . i would recommend to check some instagram bots on github that uses selenium . they use some good xpath expressions . good luck

Xpath, interesting! It might be a little above my head to go through the code since I kind of dont know exactly how a good expression will look but I will give it my best shot! Appreciate the advice as it's not working as well with the match classes.

CSS selectors are your friend:
https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_selectors.asp

Try:

ul li span:first-child

You may have to skip the last result, but that should return the heart. If not try:

ul li span:first-child i

welcome bro . xpath is very powerful you wont regret it . just a tip , try to define all your xpath expressions in classes . so if instagram made any changes you dont need to change those expressoins in all your code . you just just need to update them once in the classes
