Just a quick warning to anyone starting out and considering the Amazon affiliate programme.

Massively reduced associates earnings last March by altering % structure.

One their own discussion thread there is an on going post about Amazon not recording sales and associated affiliate payments.

They have just given notice of intention to depreciate their clicks with no orders reporting.

They have also pulled their API for new associates (will almost certainly pull it for existing associates).

Writing on the wall?

Jeff keeps his promises it seems "...know one day I will absolutely crush you"

Chose your partners well guys ;-)

Thanks for the heads up OP.

Though it wouldn't be the first time this rumor spread.

I don't think that will be very soon. Many people are still banking hard. And when the day finally comes, there will always be other options.

I agree about the rumour mill and also have seen many changes to what was once an overly lucrative programme.

Maybe, it's just a case of market share objective being reached, but always worthwhile being kept in the loop ;-)

LMAO....when you guys are wasting time spreading this BS affiliates are crushing it on Amazon!
It's a good thing though....the more time wasters like you thinking everything in life will fall into your laps leave this online industry the better for guys like us who are making their living in online hearing this BS every year!

Yes, always other options and always important to be aware of changes so informed decisions can be made, especially for newbies who maybe 'trading' on outdated data and reports/ training ;-)

I recently had my amazon account banned for donating to charity, which was one of their reasons (lol). I am over it and rebranding and will have things up and running soon. I managed to find an awesome aged domain that cost $1000 which is cheap for the quality and it being a branded domain. I also signed up with a new affiliate programme CJ, testing that out in the in-between stage. Has anyone here used them before?

So, there is definitely money still to be made on Amazon and finding a profitable niche can help a lot. That being said, larger sites work best in terms of developing organic traffic in the SERP. I recently did the siloing structure and design for an affiliate who is gonna crush-it with this site.

Not worth anything . Even in .de all niches are crowded.

Not only Amazon, the case is similar for Youtube channel owners as well :(
