Hello BHW brothers,

Can someone share some effective On-Page SEO Techniques for Blogs that should work in 2018 to rank your posts and content higher in the rankings?

I'd really appreciate if someone can point to some kind of secret and unique guide.

I'm already following Yoast guidelines but I'd still like to learn something which even Yoast plugin isn't aware of.

First Choose Low Competition Keyword
Another step use LSI keyword in content

Content length Approx 800 to 1000 word

Create unique Meta Title

And Create Backlink Related to Niche (Like Health, tech, sports)
 
As mentioned above, you should find low competition keywords and implement them in the article without ruining its coherence, create unique titles and good meta description and only get quality backlinks

You can follow these techniques besides Yoast's suggestion.

  • Use SEO-Friendly URLs: Making your URLs short and sweet

  • Start Title With Keyword: Put the keyword at the beginning of the title tag.

  • Use Multimedia: Engaging images and videos can reduce bounce rate and increase time on site.

  • Image Optimization: Make sure at least one image file name includes your target keyword

  • Use Subheadings in H2 Tags: Include your target keyword in at least once subheading…and wrap it in an H2 tag.

  • Use LSI Keywords: LSI keywords are synonyms that Google uses to determine a page’s relevancy (and possibly quality)

  • Responsive Design: Google started penalizing mobile unfriendly sites in 2015. So make sure it is responsive.

  • Outbound Links: Outbound links to related pages helps Google figure out your page’s topic. It also shows Google that your page is a hub of quality info.

  • Use Internal Links: Link only to relevant articles.

  • Boost Site Speed: You can boost your site speed by using a CDN, compressing images, and switching to faster hosting.

  • Boost Dwell Time: Increase your average dwell time by writing long, engaging content that keeps people reading.

1. Page Titles
Your page titles are one of the most important SEO factors on your site. Each of your pages & posts should have its own unique title, which includes the main keywords for that page.

2. Meta Descriptions
Many people forget to include meta descriptions for their pages. These descriptions are an important place to include relevant keywords for your content, as these are used within the search results when your page is listed.

Use videos and demonstrative images throughout the post to get good on page seo.
 
First of all purchase a SSL Certificate for your site/blog and make your site/blog secure. Its mandatory these days as per Google's new algorithm updates.
 
The on-page SEO should be optimized according to the site theme layout. Some of the steps you need to do are,

  • Create navigation links in the inner pages.
  • The keywords should optimize in meta keywords, titles and description as well.
  • First 100 words should include the main keyword that the page focussed on.
  • Avoid keyword stuffing.
  • The content should be lengthy.
  • The image should be optimized and have alt text which is the keyword that the page article focussed.
  • Insert some links from the inner page is important and it should be relevant to that creating page article.
  • Tags are important.
  • Create articles under the exact category.
  • Link any high authority links for the anchors within first few words.
 
Videos seem to be more and more important. I even occasionally see guys with worse domains than mine outranking me with just a video and 20 words on their page compared to my 1,500-word posts.

Now, I'd like to ask if anyone has ever tried the following techniques:
- Using One more H1 tag inside the article after the first para
- Pop-up banners (affiliate/emails) to decrease bounce rate.
- Adding comments in your post to increase the content site of your article.
