My experience with Propellerads as advertiser

I am lucky to have found a converting offer. I did test out other campaigns over the weekend using similar setup and lost $120 without any conversion. So the choice of offer is really important even if you have the right setup to avoid bot traffic.

Yea kinda been going through the same. I am going to test a bunch of offers (like 10 or so) with a voluum campaign and hope that i have a winner (it's in adult so i do believe that the roi is worse there).

Adult niche... if you don't mind me for being frank and a nuisance. You might have better results if you use the pic of the model that you are promoting and set it up like a real account on IG/Twitter. Buy 10k+ fake followers so that it look legit and buy fake activties, like/fav/retweets,etc for every post or tweets. Don't post anything against TOS but just behave like how a celebrity does to their account. Scrape some of the contents by celebrities and change the wording to suit your need (and pictures as well).

Remember to check with your affiliate network on the possibility to use the image of the model that you are promoting and seek written permission and not verbal. Usually advertiser will welcome such approach since your are still promoting their service.

Using this approach you do not need to use a lot of accounts. Use one to test and if work, scale up.

Already been doing that sucessfully. Thanks for the idea tho :P - I guess i just have to keep on trying and maybe i find a winner. If i don't ill just switch to general niche.

Update for today.

Was doing very well for the last few days averaging $2K+ in net profits daily until yesterday. I was pulled from promoting this particular offer due to POOR QUALITY leads that do not result in sales. Erm, this is suppose to be an email submit offer so I was quite surprised by the advertiser requirement for sales. If sales is required then the payout should be much higher than the $2.40 which the offer is paying. Anyhow, I was warned by my AM that there could be a big possibility of lead reversals as the advertiser is not happy that they are not making money from sales thus unwilling to pay the lead conversion even though my leads are all proven to be real human and my advertising invoices are in place to prove that I am paying for legit traffic sources.

My network was kind enough to payout upfront through their pocket ( I am on weekly payout).

So my warning for those who uses Propellerads traffic, do be warn of the traffic quality as the leads will not result in sales or customer paying for anything. I will conclude my test with propellerads for now.

I like how you set up your lps in https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/m...ds-as-advertiser.1007603/page-2#post-10801093

Have you checked with your network if your landing page is compliant with advertiser's requirement? (like no "Free" in the landing page)

Usually leads quality have something to do with both what you say in your landing page and traffic source quality. (for example, for some offers, android users can give you bad lead quality since they are poorer in general)

You would struggle to run a profitable sweepstakes campaign without using aggressive angle.

In most cases, the offers are actually multiple offers merged into one (i.e. the advertiser is using surveys/pin submits/download offers from other advertisers and putting them into their offer).

Thanks for sharing, so what would you do when you get banned from offer by using aggressive angle? Find similar offers to run in other networks?

I've never been banned for running an aggressive angle. Most networks turn a blind eye to it and only act if the advertiser complains, by telling you to not to promote the offer that way.

How the F*** is it that they seem to think what their new members/subscribers/enrollees do/choose not to do AFTER you've delivered them per the terms of your agreement (and they're well beyond the point in the sales funnel that you see any profit from) is somehow YOUR responsibility - and Why would your network, presented with such a childish complaint / threat of nonpayment, even entertain the idea that it's "your fault" long enough to consider bugging you with it to begin with?

The way I see it - They got what they paid for long before the basis of their complaint existed....

They Paid you for: Real Human Visitors, providing valid email addresses/verifying email addresses, etc. I'm assuming in exchange for whatever giveaway/trial/sweepstakes it was that they were offering at the moment...

From that point on, they handle the remaining segments of the sales funnel exclusively, Because they choose to go the route of ensuring they keep as much of their sales profits as possible, also implying that they are confident in their ability to maximize the value of any leads produced by you (or other affiliates) , or believed that they would gain a higher profit by handling that portion of the funnel on their own vs having affiliates see it through and therefore give up a larger cut of the resulting profits ....

Based on the above, they made a decision that your efforts are not deserving of being compensated beyond the point of a modest e-mail submit compensation (It's NOT rev share)....

Your interest, involvement and accountability in the sales funnel therefore ends at the same point in the sales funnel as where your compensation ends....

If they were experiencing the opposite end of the ROI spectrum and converting VERY WELL, do you really believe they would track you down to offer you Rev Share for the amazing leads you provided ??? F*** NO!!! They would be glad they got rid of you at $0.8-$2/e-mail submit and enjoy their loot....

If you've done your part ethically, provided actual human visitors, who were not microworkers/turkers, and who submitted and validated legitimate email addresses (or whatever was specified in their own offer for you) and who were not incentivized (unless they allowed incent traffic, then it doesn't matter whether they were or weren't) YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE JOB FOR WHICH YOU WERE PAID.... and your earnings should never come in to question beyond that point

If you've provided them exactly what I just described - YOUR PORTION OF THE SALES FUNNEL IS CLEAN - and a "lack of sales" therefore is less likely due to their claim of "low quality traffic" and more likely a result of a "low quality back end offer/product/poor sales page or offer" on their end....

They want to cut you off from compensation beyond the initial email submit, yet hold you accountable for the actions or lack thereof of the customers 3 steps beyond any involvement on your part with the process... RIDICULOUS - They can't have their cake and eat it too - classic case of a refusal to take accountability, and a refusal to accept and therefore LEARN from failure on their part, which is why that "advertiser" is destined to fail.....

Just my take on it (not that anyone asked, mind you) :-P

It's normal for affiliates to be restricted when offers do not back out for the advertisers. You should still get paid, however, I know that some advertisers are bad and screw networks. This is why networks ask for retainers and upfront payments from new advertisers.

As for running sweepstakes and email submit with pop traffic, I think every offer I ran, I ended up being restricted. This is the nature of the game with pop traffic as it's so low quality and especially when you run an angle like "You have won" and "Congrats, you have been selected" etc.

Decent advertisers tend to ask for a cap per affiliate to assess quality. Then when they are happy, they uncap or move the cap up.

Aah, wasn't aware you were using those marketing tactics ("you've won" etc) - I was thinking it was more benign, such as a long article/blog post with an email submit for some sort of downloaded content for the advertiser which they would then use to pitch their product....

Not sure how I got such a detailed (false) perception of the circumstances - I guess I must have caught your post immediately after spending entirely too much time on rough drafts for my own email submit offers and immediately assumed you were doing the same thing I was trying to do and got burned lol lmao

How do you guys feel about Popads? Anyone tried them before? Any bot traffic? Allow integration with a third party tracker?

Any and all info would be great!

F*** PopAds! That little Panamanian/Costa Rican (whatever) Thief Stole My $25 as an advertiser!!!!

Set up an advertiser account (first time EVER dealing with this company) - made my $25 deposit - created a campaign (a tester one) with $5 of the deposited $25....an hour later I go to log in to see if it's approved - and MY ACCOUNT WAS SUSPENDED - (NO TOS Violations mind you, and was properly labeled as an adult ad campaign) - and NO Refund, Replies to emails, or traffic ever received .... I can't imagine he treats his publishers any better

Wow ok...

Any network that DON'T do this shit and pay their advertisers on time etc?

Yeah - I suppose they do all cave to the all mighty dollar even if the dollar is being a whiny unreasonable little B*** lol - kind of polyana of me to assume one would have the backbone to back it's publishers when they're right

In general pop traffic gives poor quality. This is why it is not a good source of traffic for advertiser. And some even go to the extend that limits your campaign to a prelander. Send the traffic to your own hosting with prelander to pre qualify the traffic so that you do not clog the server of the advertiser. If you adhere strictly to the advertiser requirements, your cost of pop ads will be so high that it will not be profitable to even run a campaign to promote these offers.

You would struggle to run a profitable sweepstakes campaign without using aggressive angle.

In most cases, the offers are actually multiple offers merged into one (i.e. the advertiser is using surveys/pin submits/download offers from other advertisers and putting them into their offer).

Exactly, these sweepstakes offer are usually network broker that package 5 offers into one and make it a requirement that your conversion pixel will only fire if ALL offers are completed. If someone completes four offer and drop the last, you do not get paid. But advertiser still make money out of the other four offers. By law of statistics, this is why they can afford to pay $1-$2.40 per simple email submit.

I agree with you and would rather advertiser be upfront. If they want sales I will never use pop traffic. But obviously their payout will need to be above $20 to be enticing enough for publisher to promote these offers.

How do you guys feel about Popads? Anyone tried them before? Any bot traffic? Allow integration with a third party tracker?

Popads? Hmm..not advisable. Was one of those that I tested before propellerads. Traffic conversion is similar to wingoads.. bad.

How do you know the AM didn't just lie to you, and steal the campaign for him self?

I would tbf.

It's next to impossible without knowing the zone IDs of your pop placements.

If you use double meta refresh, your AM won't know your landing page or the source of your traffic.

@Sephrata has explained clearly regarding this. Zone ID is crucial as it will be impossible to identify the site that delivers the conversion since network is not capable of tracking this important stats without post back tracking setup.

This is one of the more intelligent threads here on bhw and @aincientaliens initial post reminds me of something i used to do back in the day.

When you are buying cheap traffic remember it is cheap for a reason. But you can make a profit if you look to do so more long term as @aincientalien said you can retarget, you have to be careful but you can also cookie stuff.

To give you an example of what you could do using the ops iphone example is if they dont opt in ultimately lead them to a huge online store, i am from the uk and used argos, showing the iphone for no discount. I dont care if they buy that or not what i care about is if they bought anything from, in my case argos, in the next 30 days, because then i got a commission. So it was subtle cookie stuffing and i never got caught.

I am sure there are people reading this thread who could bring that concept upto date and benefit.
