My experience with Propellerads as advertiser

This is one of the more intelligent threads here on bhw and @aincientaliens initial post reminds me of something i used to do back in the day.

When you are buying cheap traffic remember it is cheap for a reason. But you can make a profit if you look to do so more long term as @aincientalien said you can retarget, you have to be careful but you can also cookie stuff.

To give you an example of what you could do using the ops iphone example is if they dont opt in ultimately lead them to a huge online store, i am from the uk and used argos, showing the iphone for no discount. I dont care if they buy that or not what i care about is if they bought anything from, in my case argos, in the next 30 days, because then i got a commission. So it was subtle cookie stuffing and i never got caught.

I am sure there are people reading this thread who could bring that concept upto date and benefit.

The issue with this approach is that most network or advertiser uses a LIFO for cookies. Meaning they only pay for the latest cookies and anything before that is of no value. How can we be sure that the cookies that we place is going to be the latest. This is going to be a number game with this approach and the breakeven point will be very hard to predict if we uses this appoach unless there are advertisers who are willing to pay on FIFO basis.

I agee @honestIM as i explained i did it back in the day when it was an automatic 30 day cookie and things were simpler.

I also hijacked the back button and the close button to fire the cookie as well. So basically nobody left my page without signing up to the offer or firing the cookie. It was right on the edge of what was acceptable without being accused of cookie stuffing, because users had to take an action to fire it, there was simply no action they could take that did not.

Now i do something similar but with native ads and affiliate offers.

Your correct it is a numbers game, but find the right offer and it is a goldmine, because 100% of vistors fire the cookie or sign up, so you can live with some drop offs.

Which takes me back to my original observation of what @aincientalien said reminding me of it.

Why you dont use Google link builder to tracking your campain traffic, it easy to use, create the link and give properllerads

Gheghe that you suggest that shows you got much to learn padewan.

Google campaign builders is nice for site analytics but it lacks critical data when it comes to CPA.

I think you doing somethings wrong I seen people success with ppv and push notification
Your niche or audience target

I am buying Mobile Traffic for a leading Company in Europe. All Mobile. Belive me: 70% of the Traffic is Fraud! Never buy on CPM or CPC. And even with CPI its 70% trash you need to handle.

What type of service you were promoting?

Depends where you buy from.
If that's a decent ad network and you have tracking to detect bots - you can show this data to network you bought traffic from and they will refund or send you replacement traffic.

Well, in my case I am not even paying them - so no refund necessary. ;-) Callbacks are the magical word.

PropellerAds provides excellent traffic. Popups can be difficult if your landing page isn't good enough. Also, ALWAYS use tracking for your pops campaigns and I mean Voluum like tracking not Google Analytics.

Then, there’s nothing to complain for :D
But anyway, don’t buy traffic from low quality sources and even if you buy from well-known sources, check as there’s no guarantee that one of their advertisers is not buying bots that will click your ads.

Is anyone having success promoting with push notifications using Propellerads?

I heard that sweepstake offers are recommended, but after reading people's experience promoting them they spend about $100 and only get a few conversions so no where near making an ROI.

What type of offers convert good with push notifications?

I use it all the time with CPC model. CPC is much cheaper than CPM. iPhone, Gift Cards. I even test my prelanders with push traffic last time because it give more accurate result and I can be sure is it work or not.
CTR about 15-25% is usually OK for push traffic, it means your prelander work. If I get ~10% CTR or less then I don't even test it after with pop traffic, prelander is just bad or it too saturated or other mistake on prelander side.
You need much less money for tests with push traffic, because there is no bots, you pay only for real clicks. To test 1 prelander will cost you 10-15$ for 1-tier country. With pop traffic you need this budget only to detect and exclude botnet zones first if you don't know them yet.
And without tracker and a/b testing, in case of OP, you can spend thousands $ and get no conversions. It doesn't mean Propeller or other traffic source is bad. They all use botnets to burn your budget quick, but they have real traffic too. You need to understand how to work with pop traffic to make profit, there is no free money.

yes i had more leads on push notification! first prelanding or landing page is better design and responsive then you need whitelist and blacklists then high roi!

You can try to ask them to provide you with reports from their bot defender, which they obviously don't own. I've been working with them in the past, they never had good traffic.

Now using other networks that are providing me with reports about my account from their bot defenders like protectedmedia, forensiq, whiteops, etc. since then I'm able to optimize for better conversions. Also, you can agree to not pay them for fraudulent traffic, which is nice, all these networks have >5% IVT which is good. There will be no network with 0% IVT.

Can you advice me some other good networks your using?thanks

I suggest you all to avoid PropellerAds as push advertiser. I spent a lot of money and I got thousands clicks, but NONE of these clicks converted.
Also same landing page is working well with some other advertising networks.

Waste of time. They also did not want to investigate.

I have a similar experience. I will never buy advertising from them. When I buy from another ad network I get less clicks but more conversions (the same offer and the same target). I think it's fake traffic .. just my opinion
