I'm a strong advocate for free shipping, the majority of online shoppers look for free shipping so you have a much higher chance of conversions.

I guarantee you will get tons of abandoned carts if you do free+shipping because when people come to your store expecting a free item, they get surprised by the shipping cost and just leave and never come back.
