Do you use PBNs for a single KW?

I've been reading about PBNs whale day and got the impression that all those guides recommend use one link from PBN to Money Making site or several links but from the same page and about 1 keyword??
This is madness. Buy 10 domains = $200, pay for hosting + $500 pay for setup and spend 200 hours writing and managing content for those PBNs. It's like $1000 for 10 links? Makes no sense, and you actually have to spend that money every year. It cannot be that bad??

And what about Money Making sites, is it common practice to build it around single keyword? ( 1 PBN = 1 KW = 1 page on MM site?)

And how many PBNs do you need in order to rank in fitness/business/finance/education/self-development niches?

Without even addressing your math - how much you can spend to rank depends on the niche and how you're monetizing it. There are niches where it would be worthwhile to spend multiple times that per MONTH if that is what you need to do to rank.

If your niche isn't worth that, you may need to find a better niche or a less expensive way to rank (it's likely, though not a guarantee, the less profitable niche also has lower competition).

Personally, I wouldn't bother building my whole site around 1 keyword either.

And depending on how you set up the PBN one PBN site may be able to link to multiple pages on your money site, or to some parasites, or a different moneysite etc (just have to be a bit creative and consider what footprints you might be making).

Your last question might as well be "How much fuel do I need to go on a roadtrip (US/Canada/Europe/China)?"

$500 pay for setup? You have overestimated the price.

Yeah that was one of the reasons I didn't really even mention OP's math in my response. I wonder if that was supposed to be for the hosting annual cost? (i.e. ~$4-5/month/domain * 10 domains * 12 months)

The cost of the domains could easily be less or more depending on whether you're scraping expired ones yourself or buying auctions.

I mean you could easily spend way more than $1000 when it's all said and done to get 10 solids sites set up with content and everything if you buy them at auction and pay someone to write content.

But you could also do it a lot cheaper.

No idea what "pay for setup" even means though - if you're worried about the cost and don't have a VA to do it for you do the setup yourself don't pay someone else to do it.

Besides what others have already mentioned. No idea how you can spend 20 hours per one PBN domain merely managing content. It's not like you are uploading 500 articles there. Plus, content costs are final, those are not paid every year.

All in all, focusing on "one" keyword is not a problem of PBNs, it's a problem of the entire SEO plan, considering it does not make any sense. I spend much more than $1K to rank one site. $1K pays maybe for 3 better auction domains and that's it. Not even talking about other costs.

As it has been said million times before. It's all about ROI.

Thank you guys for responding and helping a newbie.
I see where I got you confused. First with my Math.
"Buy 10 domains = $200, pay for hosting + $500 pay for setup" this is calculations for cheapest domains per year. 500$ setup mean 4$ hosting * 10 (10 domains in PBN) * 12 month = rounding up to 500$.
What if I buy new domains? Is that such a bad idea?

I included 200 hours for content maintenance because like guides say you have to populate those PBS with unique content and make it look real. Real websites are updated at least 1 to 3 times per month (Meaning adding 1-3 new 400-800 word blog post every month for every PBN = a tone of work.)

Can I monetize PBS in different ways? Do they get any people or they are made entirely for robots?
Can a youtube channel be promoted with whose PBNs?

and You got me on ROI. I don't think my money site is going to make over a grand a year, no way :( I just have few domains sitting idle and they are premium so I pay for renewal (what I consider) top dollar. Btw ###.school - is a good domain or should I drop it? - 3 letter name which is a competitive keyword but .school though?

Terrible idea. It makes no sense from neither SEO nor economical point of view. You spend literally the same money and save maybe (depending on quality) $20 per domain to get no results. Makes no sense.

Schedule everything and you don't have to login for a year.

Can be done, but hard to do without leaving a footprint.

Can a youtube channel be promoted with whose PBNs?

Yes, but again, might be a footprint, so careful.

Useful as any other domain. All depends on its backlink profile.

I checked offerings, pll sell 7-10 month old domains for $120+ with cf 15 / tf 23 and this is what im paying for 120$ - ok.
If I go new I would pay 3*12 for hosting = 36$, 12$ for a name, 50$ for articles, 100$ in total. I save some money, I start clean, and this PBS will match exactly the keywords I'm after! Still makes no sense? I see a drawback - would have to wait for feedback 6+ month? How likely is it to have better cf/tf metrics off this project after all?

But you cant schedule meaningful/ relevant posts about politics or bitcoins those things change a lot. or who cares? No human is going to see those PBSs anyway?

Can you elaborate on this, what results youtube channel might get from PBN, any success stories?

I hope you are joking. :) That's not even comparable. People, use your heads please. You use that kind of domains, because they have already backlink profile in place. I can get you a hundred domains with TF20+ for free and they will be completely useless due to the amount of referring domains they have. Like 1 or 2. CF is pointless, domain age by itself is pointless. Read this https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/c...osts-metrics-spam-and-niche-relevancy.916518/

Also, you won't come up with anything new in this regard. Any idea about PBNs that you might have, some of us, who screw with them for a good number of years, already had and tried. So try to listen please, I do not like when I spend time to answer questions and people who have significantly less experience are not willing to listen. There's a reason why this is done the way it is. :)

I'm grateful, you helping a lot :)
I understand that you go for used domains because of stats and those stats obtained by backlinks. I guess I'm thinking logically when I assume that links included in 50 - 150$ used domain are garbage and you can build links like that for 20-50$? or I'm wrong here?

Hello black bunny,
if you are going to use those pbns only for your money site then you are wasting your money. So, just buy links from others it is way more economical or if you like to use it for business purpose then it is ok to buy a good old domain ($50 in the auction) and registering it. when u no longer need it, sell those in auctions for a profit.

You are. Those domains have backlinks that you can't get yourself. If the backlinks you would build to fresh sites so good that they can sustain a domain, then why can't you build them directly to money site and save yourself hundreds of bucks by registering fresh domains. And no, backlinks in decent $150 domain are not a garbage and can't be recreated for $20.

One last thing, what about youtube? There are many ways to promote YT (paid comments, views, likes, reddit shares, colaborations between youtubers and googl ad compain are amongst most effective and give resoults). But what about PBNs and how big of influence can they provide?

I used to rank YT videos with PBNs, but that was years ago. Ranking parasites and properties that are not owned by you is imo a waste of time. And that comes from someone who had been working with those for years. Also, if nothing has changed since then in this regard, then backlinks are used to rank YT video in Google search engine. Views, subs, likes, etc, are for ranking in YT engine.

I'm only interested in promoting my own channel. It is a real struggle to be new on youtube, if you not doing silly entertainment or crap content for kids. Any help from outside of youtube would be a great value for new channels with under 5k subs.

I would not bother with backlinks in that case and focus on YT purely first.

Exactly my thoughts until yesterday. I was doing research on SocialBlade, gathering data about small channels I personally enjoy. One of them struck me, to say the least. SocialBlade / youtube/channel/UCHLgef6oQmhazaaHAwwcVyg
A well-spoken guy does YT about programming and stuff. He'vs being around 3 years and made 300 videos! Now he has 3800 subs and makes 80 to 100$ a month (he shows all the stats in one of the videos). What really struck me is that he only has 60-70 views on average per video, it's just crazy. Good content, 3 years of hard work, 300 videos, and 0 money.....
After I checked his stats I immediately registered on BH :)
