In order to get fresh ideas, one should read the news and explore the trending articles. Checking on the social media comments and lurking on forums can also help you give fresh ideas. How about you? I use fresh key which shows what people are searching for on Google, Amazon , eBay etc. I buy old magazines and newspapers and use a scanner mouse to scan and edit.

You can take fresh ideas from watching TV ads/news/trending topics. I find ideas browsing tech sites, forums etc..

Thanks for the suggestions. I also use Google's Keyword planner in case I run out of ideas.

Now, this is a new one. I will definitely use this method next time. Also, this method can be really challenging.

I check on Quora, too. You can actually find sensible topics on that site just like on forums.

I have a few websites that I check on a daily basis for latest news stories, such as the BBC (even though I hate them) and Yahoo, Facebook, etc

I also have a few RSS feeds going in to Feedly

I also check this news aggregator site http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/ (It is a ".co.uk" but covers things worldwide. Highly recommended)

And I also check a few "trends" sites

So I start my morning by going through all these (usually takes about 30 minutes or so). From there I pick out any stuff I think is interesting. I then group these into three categories. 1 - Immediate stuff to write an article about (or design a t-shirt), 2 - Interesting stuff that's not worth an writing an article about, so I share on social media, 3 - Timeless stuff that i can use in the future, that I just put in a folder until I need it.

I also bounce around on Youtube, and use google keyword planner and other keyword tools to come up with ideas

I scrape hourly and daily trends in my niches from Google Trends, works wonders. You don't really need a scraper, just manually checking it every few days can still be very beneficial (some niches more than others).

I agree with you. Google trends is very helpful in creating fresh content. The charts and visualizations are also really useful for marketers.

For content 'substance' ideas, I go to Quora for inspiration

For structure (just as important as substance), I go to udemy and Wikipedia. Reddit is good too.

Google is getting smarter and smarter. Stay several steps ahead by using HUMAN logical 'analogs.'
