This is the moment coffies usually stop working.

I wake up. Drink coffee. and It makes me do things for next 4hrs or more.

at 3-4pm i usually cant motivate myself anymore. and coffee doesnt help at this time.

Is this the sideeffects of coffee? like i felt HIGH so I have to feel LOW now?

Caffeine has a half life of 6 hours so that might be why, also remember that with every up you must come down - Your body is always trying to reach a state of homeostasis

so should I drink water to get that out of my body with my pee and then drink one very strong coffee?

Your liver breaks down caffeine so drinking water wouldn't really change how much caffeine is metabolized per unit of time.

I suggest taking 10 days off consuming caffeine - this resets the receptors that caffeine binds to, then use it in moderation. The more you use it the less of a desired effect it will have.

You build up a tolerance to caffeine just like with any drug, so you can't rely on it for your energy. If you're going to use caffeine I'd say try out matcha, it's special ceremonial tea that is ground up. Unlike regular teas where you only get the caffeine absorbed in the water, you drink the ground up tea which stays in your system and slowly releases as your body breaks it down.

Also make sure you get lot's of nutrients, eat healthy, and make sure you stay hydrated, a side effect of slight dehydration is feeling lethargic.

I usually take a nap for about an hour around 4 if i've been working hard for the day, then after that i'm fully recharged and ready to go for another 6 hours.

You need to create a special routine for yourself. See what motivates you, what keeps you up
One thing that easily came to mind is music. If you can rock good music, there's basically no "down" part

Also, set tiny goals so you get excited whenever you achieve them. It helps with being motivated.
You have to think long term about this sort of stuff because you need to make the most out of your time and short term routes aren't going to work as effectively.

It will take some time to get to know yourself but once you do, you can make a routine based on that

Happens to me sometimes too, especially when I overdo the caffeine. To help prevent the drop, I usually try to take short breaks at regular intervals during which I do something totally different, something relaxing (work out, meditate, etc.) or something fun. You could also try to go easier on the stims -- fewer peaks and valleys that way.

What a coincidence. Same age as @Sherb's grandpa...

I need to adjust the thermostat as it just got real cold in here.

OP - you would probably be well served by getting away from the computer and grabbing some fresh air a couple of times a day. 23 is WAY too young to be running out of gas after 6 or 8 hours of work.

12 - 14 hours maybe but 6 or 8 no way.

Fresh air, some exercise to get your heart pumping, B vitamins instead of coffee and a legit break away from work will all help in one way or another.

Whenever I work in the office, there is a sketchy mall that I'm sure @BassTrackerBoats is familiar with right in the parking lot. A good brisk two mile walk takes a half hour, and is plenty to get some "fresh" air and clear the mind. I recently discovered several miles of hiking trails less than a mile drive from the office, though, so that's the new go-to.

Whenever I work from home, I harness the dog up and take him on a couple-mile stroll. Keeps him from getting restless and lets me connect with the great outdoors and meet new neighbors.

If it's raining and I'm working from home, I'll gear up and go for a run. There is nothing quite like a rainy run.

aaaaaaand it's a great way to stay in shape!
