i am so tempted to go for this method. but i run an online shop n i am just afraid of getting into google's ban list.. any advice.

if your online shop is your livelihood, why don't you try the service with a throwaway domain?

give the domain/site a couple months or even three to see if anything happens to it.

and if nothing happens to it, then you will know if you need to go forward with this...

I tried it on 2 sites. One was an old domain already in google and the other one brand new. Both results were oustanding. The new domain got listed in 2 days and i've now nearly 400 high ranked pages in GG.
