As per DD’s reply here, I suggest all links be blocked on the Crypto section, as the vast majority of related websites have donation address.

Even CoinMarketCap, the most authoritative price tracker, has donation links on all pages!

Banning all links is the only feasible way to ensure this rule is enforced, as it’s not feasible for mods to check every linked website.

Thanks for your ideas - we're not about to block all links this simply wouldn't be logical.

After reading what was written. It sounded as though the video that you linked to was directly promotional, rather than the donation link just being incidental as they are in the examples above.

It's possible I misunderstood the OP.

No, the video did not visually or verbally ask for donation. There was a BTC address 3 paragraphs deep in the description.

Anyway, let’s keep this on the topic of my suggestion. I’ve just been threatened with a ban after reporting a Crypto Reddit post that not only links to a competing forum, but also asks for donations.

I guess, as per the latter part of my original thread, the rule only applies when I post the link.

Whats wrong with website that has donation address, how does that harm this forum?

It is against the ToS. Plain and simple.

Just to clarify - at one time the OP reported a bunch of posts/threads in retaliation to a warning or alert he received and clogged up the report section. He either got a warning, alert or a temp ban for that. For that reason I told him should he continue he would get another vacation.

Thread closed as this is pointless.

Going forward I'll just issue warnings as opposed to alerts when I come across a promotional video like the one the OP posted originally.
