First post - First Journey

What is up, everybody? First of all, I wanna say hello to everyone on this forum community. I`ve been around for a few good years but only as a guest, just reading and learning stuff posted by successful people and I`m glad they share this info with us.

Some stuff about me:

I`m 21 years old now, last year of uni studying computer science. I already got a part-time job that will probably turn into a full time 9-5 boring job every day after I finish uni but I feel like this thing is not for me u know, I don`t wanna be a lab rat for the rest of my life. So I plan to start it slowly, put the effort in and hopefully next year run some online businesses ( Affiliates, Dropshipping, maybe some web development services)

I want to start my first post with a journey, precisely an Amazon affiliate website because it seems the best journey to start with, at least for me.

The Plan

1. Gather as many articles as possible ( that won`t be a problem, my gf is an English native speaker)

2. Make the website. I`m gonna use Wordpress platform as I am familiar with it and I can create the website pretty fast.

3. Optimize the content keywords and all that shit.

4. Create social media accounts for my website (facebook Instagram twitter).

5. Get visitors to my website.

6. Buy some backlinks, link building, guest posts from the forum to boost my website.

7. Apply for Amazon Affiliate Program.

Some questions

1. How important is it to get a .com domain? And what kind of word combination to use? I mean like should I target a keyword in it like reviews, revision or something like that? I do have a domain now but it ends with .net

2. Hosting company? Which one do you recommend?


Any other advice you can provide it`s highly appreciated. Thanks!

Better to target a brand name rather than keywords, having a keyword in the domain name can increase the click rate (CTR) but you will probably face some anchor over optimization if you are new in the SEO world

yes keyword in domain will be helpful in ranking but what you will do for other keywords. so make a brand domain. try to get .com domain.

Tld doesn't matter. But .com feels and look nice. Don't use your keyword in your domain. That's so 2014. It sometimes work but branded will work more and you can scale your site as well

.net is great.


Siteground, hostwinds, DO, AWS are good.
Just don't fall for bluehost/hostgator
