Google removed manual action, is everything good now?

I picked up an expired domain that was already indexed for months and I decided to start adding content to it and it was deindexed a day later. Saw a pure spam manual action in search console and appealed it... google approved my appeal and remove the penalty. I am wondering if everything thing is good now, can I expect it to be indexed again soon?

PS: I also think it's weird that it got deindexed as soon as I started adding content. What are your thoughts on this?

I would be cautious about linking to your money site any time soon.

It's highly likely the site is under watch.

In fact, pick a 3rd party test URL targeting very low comp keyword and link to it first. Watch like rankings behave and if there's any improvement.

Something similar for me.

I found what I thought was a clean expired domain (did all the usual checks) with a few quality backlinks, created a decent WP site and added a bunch of copyscape checked relevant articles from archive.org.

In fact, I did this for 3 x domains with the intent of linking 2 to the main one and creating a mini PBN in the future as part of a long term project.

Waited for them to be naturally indexed. 1 was indexed in 1 week, nothing for other 2 domains. After 3 weeks I added them to GWC (different aged accounts) and submitted the sitemaps. Nothing for a week then both have the 'pure spam' manual penalty.

Rechecked the sites, they both look decent and content is clean, so asked for a review explaining that perhaps these were penalised prior to my ownership. Will see what happens.

I am concerned about the money site domain and wonder if I should just get something else which has no history.

What do you think? Better to start with a new domain for the money site? Assuming the penalties are removed, would you link either of these domains to the new domain, or just too much risk?

However, in my personal experience, it appears that when you are hit with these manual penalties, they somehow place your site under their radar, meaning something like observation. A little jolt and movement, may get your site penalized again in the process. Not sure how long this radar monitors your site, but it seems indefinite to me.
Nevertheless, when it comes to manual penalty, and if it is not an auto one, then putting an image of you (the author of the site) on the page would help stop these manual penalties, as a manual one would require one of their employees to manually review your site. If your site looks legit, with your photo, and contact information, mobile number, etc, then a manual penalty is least likely to take place.

Think I might just create a new site with a fresh domain. If the other 2 domains have the penalty removed, I will look at them in the future to link to the new money site.

Quick update on my 2 sites. Filed the review and 6 days later (yesterday) got a message saying the manual penalty had been lifted. I did nothing to the sites to make changes as they were both new sites, just decent expired domains.

I also created a new site so I think to begin with, I am just going to let these 2 penalty removed sites settle, add a new article each week etc and then after 6 weeks, add a single link to test effect and if positive, link them to my new money site.

1st time I have dealt with a manual penalty so all new ground to me.

Definitely plan on seeing if they become usable again. I have already paid for the domain and hosting so adding a link to a page 2/3 site and seeing effect will be an interesting lesson for the future. Nothing to lose.

If you did not build anything yet and the domain did not cost you more than few bucks my advice is to fuck it. If you already build the website and/or the domain cost you a lot - then you just need to have decent website with unique content and request reconsideration in the Search Console. Usually takes 1-2 weeks to get a response.

If you end up buying a domain which is penalised for spam, like I did, it is not the end of the world. Take your time, and you can more than likely bring it back to life and make some money!
