If you want a sizeable return, you better invest into a promising ICO early stage. However, don't jump on the next best thing that pops up and sounds good but only invest into something you also understand.

There's a newly launched coin called Upfiring (UFR). It has lots of potential and the prices are still really low. No reason why you can't x10 your investment in a year.
Since it's a new coin. I wouldn't recommend more than a few hundred bucks since there is more risk with new launches. The safest thing right now would be ETH. It's an awesome coin that I personally feel is better than BTC, and it's severely undervalued right now.

Im into Lisk since July of 2017 and I couldnt be more happier. Yesterday they announced their rebrand date which is at 20th of February (or 22th I'm not sure.)
Many buyers whose dreams were "quick money with crypto" got dissapointed and sold everything. Lisk dropped from 10$ to 8$ but also many shitty investers left our coin,which is great.
I'm seeing Lisk at March 2018 around 40-60 dollars.
