Nobody can answer you because we don't work at ebay and make those decisions. They could go after you, they might not. No point in worrying until the shit hits the fan, just get on with your life. Or speak to a Lawyer for reassurance and your options should they come after you.

And thats what I figured too, I'm not trying to talk to anyone that works at eBay just maybe someone that has more knowledge and experience in situations like these because I honestly don't know much at all. Thanks for the advice though

I don't know how strict ebay is and how much they'll do in terms of pursuing issues like this. I've only been selling for a little less than a month so its not like there was a ton of time to make a huge amount of money. Other friends of mine who have done this same thing before said they just moved on and eBay never contacted them again but me being a paranoid individual wanted to get the opinions of those outside my circle lol.

It doesn't matter if you made $1 or $100,000. What matters is interstate transportation of counterfeit goods.

Cuz' you admitted to guilt straight up on here, if they can tie your user name to your identity. Not good.

Personally, unless you were selling a high amount daily and hurting the MLBs bottom line. You're fine. But I'd prep and scrub like hell in case someone ever did come poking around. You may just be too much of a hassle to prosecute.

Like others have said, it is unlikely they will go after you if you have been selling for a short amount of time and did not make large profits. Since they called and spoke with you, they are almost certainly going to check if you have done this before (IE: Made accounts, sold on their platform under different accounts, got deleted, etc). If they don't find anything I find it highly unlikely they would go after you. However, if someone specifically reported you (such as an authorized distributor), they may press charges - in which case ebay would be complying.

This is not legal advice, speak to an actual lawyer if you are worried. But I would recommend 1) stopping anything to do with this, no more shipments/refund all. 2) not answering any further questions without speaking to a lawyer. It may seem like an innocent phone call, but if a fraud department employee is calling you - it is 100% being recorded. Even if Ebay doesn't press it, they'll definitely be keeping a recording of any calls which could come back to bite you.

Thank you for all the info! Yeah I have never done anything like this before, and up until this point my account has been 100% legit with tons of great feedback and no side accounts were made because I've never even been suspended before. This jersey thing was only done for about 24 days and I know my friend who did it did it for far longer and made far more money than I did. I just really needed some reassurance before I go crazy from paranoia.

I agree it was probably MLB that turned you. And you’ll be lucky if MLB doesn’t go after you. All the major sports have BIG teams of lawyers and trackers that look for counterfeit stuff all day long and they have no qualms about pursuing legal action against counterfeiters. That said, you weren’t manufacturing so they might go after your buddy instead of you.

Side note. Disney has the largest counterfeit fraud team probably of any corporation. And they are more aggressive than you can possibly imagine. For example if you have a logo that even barely resembles one of their brand logos, you’ll get a cease and desist letter in the mail when threats to prosecute. Trust me on this. They don’t mess around. I can only imagine how hard they go after counterfeiters.

the sods took me to court for counterfeit cups lol lol lol

i got told take logo away or there fine me huge money , when i said in court cheeky how much , the judge replied millions i suspect and the company lawer nodded his head lol

be very carefull , if i was selling there logo tshirts and got caught i would hide under my bed lol

what they can do is send in the heavy squad arrest everyone on the property , take away every computer on the property, put you all in jail and question everybody in the house , there collect every item possable linking you to the crime , there go thu every inch of the home with a toothbrush , there quistion every body you no ......

Jessica Alba's billion dollar company is suing another company because they used a semi-similar trademarked floral pattern on their packaging and a product name that is potentially confusing for consumers.
