I have att uverse and just got a linksys router extender RE4000w to be exact, i was told it is universal.

It isnt connecting, i also read that uverse doesnt really allow 3rd party devices such as extenders and routers to connect, is there any truth to that?

You need a router extender extender, for it can't extend enough to be extentious without an extender extender's extension.
So if your not going to help and just troll whats the point?

It's next to the point of trying to get router equipment support on a marketing forum, instead of calling the vendor.

Again if your not going to provide any help then why waste your time responding. HOw do you know I didnt call, ATT is only going to tell you what makes them money. So if there is a way to go into the router settings and set up a extender maually to avoid paying ay service fees, you really think ATT is going to tell me.

There are some very smart people on this forum and your not one of them obviously. This is a internet marketing forum, so im sure quite a few people know the internet from inside out.

What model router are you using now?

Tutorials for setting up the extender can be found with Google:

BTW Your thread is in The Lounge, anything goes in The Lounge, including cracking jokes, also @jazzc is a Mod, he was also correct as a double band router is also known as a router extender extender in technical circles.

10t/100/1000mbps lines

10t/100 single speed .
1000 / double speed .

10gbps super speed lines ,there in
dara centers like leval 8....

the first one was to slow for your line
so your getting the upgraded version .

it a firmwere update and hardware to accept
100 mbps to 1000 mbps.

i do networking at dads firm when he nice to me , i hold my weight in server's and routers
i usally work on cisco all day , bash coding so please ask away any quistion ....

remember your need cat6 wire if not using wireless , cat 5c wont handle the power of 100 mbps to 1000 mbps .....

your laptop or descktop needs a network card of 100/1000 mbps .....

wireless card needs to be 100/ 1000 mbps compatable.....

At least make original copypasta - this sounds like some olive garden shit.

only those that buy that particular router can be a expert.

surly they got there own support forum .

most modern routers are all auto setup and , selecting settings with popup info.

even a firmware update might of solved the issue if it 100/1000 which i suspect it was unless it stoped at 100 mbps , sending it back was a good choice , updating firmware can sometimes be problematic.

First . Is your att uverse does it have a WiFi connection or is it only a router??

If it’s a router only . You can’t just attach extender to it. Model numbers would help as well.

I don't consider consciously chosen entertainment as waste of time, but thank you for caring.

Although it's a lengthy keyword term, I'm sure it would be pretty difficult to rank. A lot of people have this sort of issue, when trying to connect into the web portals. One of the biggest things you are going to have to figure out, is how to beat tomshardware.com, in recommending answers to potential clickers.

How are you planning on monetizing? Hardware consulting? I had a great experience when I was first starting out, and someone gave me a fool proof way to get my modem to work. Turn it off, for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. Worked like a charm. I've moved 8 houses in 14 years, and my aol hasnt slowed down at all. Internet forums like this are great, because I dont have to download too many pictures. 56.6k FTW!
