How long to wait until testing an expired Domain?

Hey guys,
so i got a few additional expired domains and these are the first ones I'm testing myself by linking out to a concurrents page with an hard yet unused anchor. No I've read, that there's a penalty for expired domains, when linking out to another site while not being indexed for a minimum of 30 days. Is this confirmed or just a myth? Because I didn't have the patience to wait and already tested most of the expireds now succesfully without getting a penalty.

What are your experiences? Thanks in advance.

edit: I also have to add, that I already linked out >15 PBN in recent times shortly after building a blog on them and didn't experience a bad outcome.

Its best to re establish domains and wait for a while before linking out so they can be treated as new sites.

There is no "penalty" on expired domains. It's simply better to just wait a bit before linking out or to at least link out to other sites before you link to your money site. Letting everything rest is pretty natural for SEO and thus the reason it's advised to wait a bit. Testing of links however is really unnecessary. If your domain is good and clean, there's nothing to test really. However waiting for a month is a good idea.

A 12 year old expired domain to still have an algorithm. In that case, you are probably in trouble and probably should find a new domain before you start doing much.

Almost all of my pbn-domains were registered after march and I rank on page 1 for multiple money keywords by now.

Because now I indexed them manually in the search console, which made the blogs indexed after just a few minutes. By "after Building a Blog" in my first post i mean to build just the Blog on Wordpress with no content so far, which perhaps was the reason for the long indexing time in some cases.
My first Blogs were indexed the natural way, which took a while, sometimes two weeks. I'm just not sure, if that would make a difference, so I asked if there is an explicit waiting-time after registering the expired domains. I'm just not sure, if google handles blogs the same, that got indexed the day the domain got registered and linking out instantly and indexing them naturally, which takes some time after registering the domain and building the blog. Perhaps I should have said that before... my bad.

and, even if they would "test it", they wouldnt get the points @phpbuilt talked about 2 and 4 years ago.
"testing", would at least have to be done with 3 different cycles and 3 months time periods between each to have "somewhat" of data.

So you say, the testing guide from matt diggity about PBN Testing isn't needed if the backlink profile looks clean and archive.org doesn't find anything fishy either? Could save me a lot of time.

Guess why lots of people have trouble ranking their sites with expired domain PBNs

There are hundreds of guides out there regarding building a network so its not hard to get a decent and clean domain at all

The problem is there are filters applied to expired domains which make them almost powerless if you don't know how to set them up properly

I own over 400 PBNs atm and been testing a lot lately so I know what I am talking about

You will not get this info on this forum cause people who earn huge money do not bother chatting on forums online

If you were earning 100k$+ would you send time answering stupid threads on a forum (99% of the threads are stupid cause have been answered hundreds of times before) ?? I wouldn't....

Just do some testing yourself and never listen to people that clean and expired domains are enough to get you rich

The setups is default wordpress, so go figure.

I know right? So many people going crazy saying their PBN doesn't work and all I do is building some nice Websites and linking out to the moneysite and it somehow works, all without any special secret.
