That has no more to do with Ripple than Mark Karpelès has to do with bitcoin core.

Its stupid how many crypto's have errupted in the last few years. I don't believe any of them will overthrow BTC anytime ever. Also many of them will simply die (disbanded/abandoned projects) and lose all value. Others will remain at startup value forever.

Pretty sure bitcoin is only spiking due to its hard fork and people wanting free bitcoin gold, in the long run I think Ethereum will take the crown and I think alts will bounce back next month. Vitalik is a beast for people to rally around and to lead the way, something bitcoin is lacking.

This is my current portfolio, planning to put more into Neo, OmiseGo and Bitcoin if it falls after the fork....

Agree, though Ethereum might be a strong contender. It is fast and its contracts are a very interesting concept.

Ethereum is good tech but I worry that without Ico's propping it up the price will struggle.

Ethereum is the MAIN competitor of bitcoin, not just a competitor. There is no other competitor to bitcoin. However ethereum platform and ether being used as gas is still far from being mainstream, so bitcoin will be solid for at least 5 years. the good thing about ether is that it is dirt cheap right now. It won't surpass bitcoin anytime soon, but ether going to $3000 is not that far fetched...maybe just 24 months. Both will win though.

I think ethereum is gonna drop even a little more before taking off again. The reason is a lot of money came in short period of time, mostly dumb money. Price already droped 50% from ath, but I think the downtrend is not over yet

btc is currency vs. eth is global decentralized computer governed by smart contracts

when eth goes to pos, miners should move onto the next pow coin
