New sub-forum: CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)

Hi friends !

I would like to reach out to the mods & admins of BHW.
I decided not to send private messages and bother people with my proposal, instead I would like to request it in public.

Just as the title says, I believe it would be very useful for BHW to have a Conversion Rate Optimization sub-forum. The reason is simple, it's a growing but still not well-known industry. Just as SEO was a long time ago. It's a great opportunity for us to establish new products & businesses using the BHW forum. It will also give BHW an advantage and more visitors; more importantly a more diverse audience from parallel industries.

I highly hope you support this idea.

Yeah, I think this is a good idea. There's a lot of emphasis on getting new traffic to your websties around here, but many people don't know how to make the most out of the traffic they already have (e.g., getting more return visitors,). This can even open up new discussions on "How to convert x number of visitors using x" rather than the typical "How to get x number of visitors" we occasionally see around here..

The only downside I can see to having a sub-forum for CRO is people intentionally asking dumb stuff about their sites that they already know the answers to in an effort to promote and sell their own services. Kinda like all of the dumb stuff we all post on WF to get eyes on our sig space. I could see it taking up a lot of the mods time here... Maybe make it for donors only? idk

Other than that though, why is this still not a thing on BHW? I would love to have a section devoted towards this

This is exactly the problem.
About a year ago I started writing a few threads regarding CRO on BHW, but nobody seems to be interested.
Most people around here are only concerned with generating traffic and monetizing (excluding those who even know what CRO stands for ofc.)
Time for a revolution?

If there is interest it would make sense... I remember those threads from then and it didn't wake up the crowd.

My opinion is that education will get people on board but the masses not knowing is part of the problem.

It is sort of like creating a new "industry" or product line. Let's say that you have something that is similar to cheese but not really cheese and you are trying to get people interested in it because it has properties that make you live 3 times longer.

You'll need to educate the public before you can actually bring it to the marketplace (supermarkets) and get shelf space to sell it.

It is a bit of an uphill grind and that is where one needs to be innovative and educational to get people on board.

As to how to education you need to consider how the education system works. It starts with very elementary information and builds on there.

Initially children learn how to spell C-A-T (although it has been said that Terry Bradshaw could not spell cat if you spotted him the C and the A) and gradually grow them into being able to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and antidisestablishmentarianism.

There are a lot of steps and lessons to learn to go from A - B.

If you wanted to start a series of educational posts like that I'd be all sorts of school girl giddy as that would be huge for the membership and would educate, which would make the folks that learn, more money in the long run but it is a legit commitment on your part.

Perhaps tag teaming with @rockinrobin would be a good idea on that should you choose to follow through.

@rockinrobin would have to know how far he could go without breaking forum rules since he has a product that falls in this niche ;^)

Just don't reference your thread or make it promotional... I know you have a product in that niche which is why I mentioned you.

I know you are sharp enough to keep it non-promotional and instead educational and, to be quite frank, that is a better way to market anyway as if you come off promotional people think you are only posting to consume and not contribute.

Sorry for bumping a really old thread, but I really agree with this one - We need a CRO part. This forum is lacking a Conversion Rate Optimization sub-forum and it's seriously underrated. The reason there aren't enough posts about it (to reach requirements "find 30+ posts made in the last 15 days on this topic") is because there simply aren't enough people that even know about CRO (I think). We're so focused on driving traffic that many of us forget what to do, and how to really squeeze the traffic to the max once we get it.

If the subforum was added, I reckon there would be way more traction, and a huge eye opener for people.

Anyone else?

I want to see discussions about web design layout, button colors, background colors and so on for best CRO.

It's one of the main aspect get it wrong and you are going to end up losing traffic

Exactly. Once you get traffic, CRO is the most important thing to learn.

Damn, CRO really is so damn underrated it's crazy. Everyone is so focused on getting traffic that they forget how to really squeeze profits from the traffic once it's generated. Guess I'll need to find another place for info/discussion about CRO.
