Make a list of his linking domains from the highest DR to the lower ones. Don't 'try' to get them, do get most of them. Then after you have imitated him enough, now get some better backlinks, like guest posts from highly relevant sites etc.

Yes, that's what I'm currently trying to do. I have 2 weeks left on my Ahrefs account until my trial expires to deeply analyze the competitors

How much content do you have? Proper internal linking and content can really move things up. Looks like you have a decent base of links.

Just yesterday I replaced my old site with a new version. Completely redesigned and about 80k words of unique SEO content. Each of the 40 target keywords has an own landing page focusing this keyword with a 1k words SEO article. So On Page SEO should be way better than my competitor in my opinion.

that's true. Well, also my competitor has an established brand since 2010. I just started in March 2017.

Do you use breadcrumbs? 80k is a pretty dang good amount of content.

I'd recommend some good exact match links on some resurrected pbn's, that usually gives me the last push I need for high competition keywords.

Probably real guest posts would be better than PBNs I think. You mean those breadcrumb path things on the pages? Do you think that's important?

Yes very important, you need each page to link to the next page and back to the category which links back to the home page, that's how you boost all pages.

Guest posts are great but expensive, PBN's give you similar power at a lower cost, but a slightly higher long term risk.

1. no follow links 15k
2.do follow links 35m

your competition got it write and perfect , that his back link campaign ...

each task in seo is a project and take time
indexing links might take 3 months on average , I suggest using a indexing service to get all backlinks indexed fast.

look at yours ,

your backlinking is no where to be seen
you need to work on your back link methods.

1. no follow links 40
2.do follow links 285

I am going to give you free advise here , get scrape box , and scrape the competition backlinks and repost them back to yours and do this for all 5 websites of your competition

only 're post back the back links that are heigh in metric stats .....

do not add any Spammy crap backlinks and never have any backlink associated with porn.

once that done then show me your stats again ....

there loads of tasks need doing for you to get to the top with seo , if it all fails then we head to pbn to false website indexing position

ever think take time after you do what I asked above we will then move onto exspired web2.0 to boost the website even more ...

then we can move to bookmarking links and plrs

then blogs and forum comment posting and then social marketing links .

as you can see you need to master a lot just in back links before silly pbn work , why because pbn cost real money must exhaust all over avenues first.

You need better quality and number of links than he has. Plus, crawlers would only give you part of the link profile of your competition and usually the not so important ones.

Looks like you need some more quality links and some citations to your website.

For Links i will recommend that you go for following

1. Build Some quality PBN Links
2. Buy Some press release
3. Build Web2.0 Links

keep time interval in link building. Your stats looks more natural so keep doing the above and you will notice improvement soon.

Few advance things you can try

• Buy expired domain with some tats in same niche and redirect it ti your domain with 301 redirection for quick result

thanks. Do I have to use Scrapebox or can I just use Ahrefs and sort the competitor backlinks by the highest metric manually?
