An unethical website that publishes unethical reports is asking for unethical tactics, on a website that they would probably consider unethical, does it get much more unethical than that ?

I'll take your word for it, I was drinking till 2am this morning!

I couldn't believe I even read this.

Not that I doubted you @Sherbert Hoover but I had to check it myself and it's there in black and white!!!

Zero respect, zero sympathy and zero fucks given.

I'm surprised your site hasn't been attacked before.

Sites / services ike this are the scum of the earth.

Many moons ago I got scammed by some clown from WF, and someone else who had been scammed did a Rip Off Report post.
The scammer then took it upon himself to post his own ROR and named a famil members details of mine ( who had paid for the service, as I had been out of the country at the time of purchasing).

ROR weren't interested in doing the right thing and removing the scammers bullshit.

Services/Sites like these are shit.

I just wanna say that IMO the only possible negative outcomes of this are:
- overoptimization due to related offpage anchors (however thats not true here because he used sex anchors). that doesnt penalise website and can be fixed by redirecting the post with ruined anchors to new (copied) one. anchors shall reset and offpage overoptimization wouldnt apply

- filing complaint to Google. this one you described already and it could be deadly. probably best way to avoid it is to keep proof like you did and use it in case you get banned.

I've been target of such attacks several times.
Beacuse of audience which involved here I must give my response.
Its diff from niche to niche the effect.
Here some insights from my own experience.
From SEO aspect I would not agree with others if website is hooked up with spam links which come from domains with spam score over 6 according Moz.
You even can't think what will do to your website and how fast if the find spam domains with links score over 8 according Moz scale.
This one who hired to do NSEO is some one which is not familiar how SEO works in 2017 after September 2016 year Google updates onward.
This is your luck.
To harm you its needed only 10 domains nothing more. The anchor is not important here.
Google will recognize your website as part of "bad companions".

In niche which are blackhat (adult, pharma, casino) you cant imagine what kind of damage can make even just "one" spam email with fake content send to targeted audience.
I had similar case in near past and did not go well man, believe me.This will ruin your reputation in 24 hours and there is no excuses in such niches.

Now the moral dilemma.
To find the man behind all and what to do with him?
Bottom line is as many wrote that you will get back equal even harder to keep good voice and standings in the business where you operate.
Its bad in this business if you just seat down and do nothing.
Believe in my case I waste maybe 2 months to find the bastards doing this.It was hacker group from India.
Man I was hell of piss off.
I've become obsessed tracking and hunting them.
I lost all summer this 2017 year in this pursuit.
I've engage a lot of resources.
What ever they had I've started to destroy.
Websites, blogs, FB,Twitter,Instagram accounts and profiles (don't ask me how) and when owners don't wanted to obey upon one email sent by me what I asked from them to be done I started to destroy them also.
They started to have problems a lot and started to loose money.
I used just this trick above mentioned and creating spam domains without possibility to discover links from Majestic or Ahrefs.
Quite easy.
Rest you get it ,hope.
In whole operation were in game about 237 domain s exactly, about 40 FB profiles,30 Twitter profiles which were targeted.
Bottom line I've ruin their SEO business period in just 2 months.
But must say that they made damage to my reputation also and financial lost with their "initial acts".

Ah to mention in this case, some one mention if you use Cloudflare you are "safe".
Must tell that "Security is illusion" ,these are words of one man of my seo team.
Believe me guys this is true and will stay long long time true.

Our friends and BHW Enterprise members over at Pissed Consumer need your view on this. Suggestions, feedback and ideas all appreciated.

Have you had any experience of this type of attack? - BHW please chime in and give Pissed the benefit of your experience.

Roger that, DD:

I did research on the affects of NSEO like 2ish years ago, testing it on one of my old authority sites. I concluded that ultimately it is far less effective against sites with strong authority. By the end of my test, rankings were actually slightly BETTER than before it started. But, that was some time ago....

What I always tell my clients is to simple chill out and take a wait and see approach until you ACTUALLY have some hard data to act upon. If you do perceive a defined negative affect from this, then do keep in mind that this situation is EXACTLY what Google designed the disavow specifically for. 301's may be more tricky, and personally I've never tested with them. Ultimately your actions will depend upon your site's depth of analytics and site stats, hopefully your CMS has all the data you'll need easily at hand.

Also this might be a new method for unscrupulous BlackHat SEO'ers, post a ton of shit reviews for a company then offer them ORM services.
You should check the original complaints, see if they lead back to the SEO guys lol
Anyway, whoever they hired were obviously clowns.

Thank you for your comment. We at PissedConsumer were approached by such agencies a couple of times for collaboration... We do not endorse such behavior and will not work with SEOs that rely on such tactics.

Do you guys have a easy to follow method to appeal reviews left against people or companies?

For example a ex-member of this forum (@nanexo) has created 5 fake reviews against myself which I have contacted your support over to try and get them removed and I got nowhere.

https://ste-hughes.pissedconsumer.com

If this was important to me how would I get it looked into (and hopefully removed) before thinking about NSEO? Maybe that's the first step in protecting yourselves from this.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention. It would be best for you to complete our https://www.pissedconsumer.com/contact/general-inquiry.html form. Please add a note that you are coming from BHW forum.

In terms of the Neg SEO comments.. there is a very simple way and it doesn't cost a lot - knock a site offline for long enough and it'll soon lose its rankings. Not something I'd do myself, but it certainly works and isn't rocket science.

Also called a Slow Loris attack...

@pissedconsumer,

As @Ste Fishkin alluded to, things such as this probably would not affect your website if you had a clearer, more visible method of dispute resolution for business owners, instead of forcing them to pay $1,200 before you'd even consider rectifying a negative review: https://www.pissedconsumer.com/static/legitimacy-verification-program-rules-and-conditions.html
.

Thank you for your comment. What is important to note regarding LVP program, PissedConsumer does not take a cent from this $1200 for cases involving defamation. This is the money that attorneys(Third-Party Neutrals) charge for reviewing the case. If you have an attorney who will be able to do it pro bono, please pass them along to me. We will be happy to work with them.

There is a way to take down review(s) for Free. If you know who posted the review, and a person is willing to put together a http://www.pissedconsumer.com/static/publications/pissed-consumer-questions-and-answers-faq-2.html - we will consider removal of such review(s).

Additionally, business owners are welcome to join our https://www.pissedconsumer.com/business-solutions.html to respond to consumers.

Where I come from it is know as extortion. Maybe somebody should contact the FBI.

@https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/mickyfu.247149/ Thank you for your comment. We have replied on this forum regarding our LVP Program. If you have a reasonable suggestion that will allow for inexpensive way for consumers to freely share information and be able to deffend against defamation attacks at the same time, I am all ears. Feel free to PM us.

I've seen sites similar to yours that have measures in place to protect the people being reviewed.

For example if I was to find a bad review on their site I can click dispute, the reviewer then has 5 days to reply with proof.. generally people with sinister motives will NOT reply or better yet will have used a throw away email. If there is no response their support team removes the fake review. This is a pretty simple solution and a fair one at that.

Responding is all well and good, ripoffreport lets companies respond too. Know what happens when you start responding? The bullshit reviews rise in the serps.

Basically as you have it now.. anyone can post freely, but a victim of a fake post will end up out of pocket either way.. I don't see how that's fair.

Reasonable ways don't pull the dollars though do they. Your business model is built on exactly what it is, underhand ways of getting money out of people. You can try and dress it up as much as you like. Your business revolves round borderline extortion and blackmail. Fairness does not even come into your business model, it's all about those dollars.

I love that processes exist, yet require events so unlikely to happen that they will never be followed.

Do you seriously think it is reasonable that a business that has been defamed on your site to contact the person making the defamation and ask him or her to turn up in person at the offices of an attorney to sign a letter retracting the defamation? And do you believe that the business should pay for that?

Having a free plan to respond is something, except that you charge an unknown amount (more than $250 a month) for the real solution of dealing with anonymous posters and responding to negative reviews before they are placed on your website.

Lastly, can you not find people who charge less than $1200 to judge whether a review is fair or not? There is no legal reason to require lawyers to do this work, and even if they were charging $200 per hour, it wouldn't take 6 hours to judge whether a review has merit or not. Exactly who are your third party neutral lawyers?

Its not about sharing information, its about inflicting harm on business. You can't pretend that your site exists otherwise. And it isn't like people actively seek out balanced reviews on your site before deciding to buy from a business. Searchers use your site to find negative reviews.

It is the job of government to protect the interests of consumers.

If the business model doesn't work without charging the victims, perhaps the business isn't viable.

Lousy responses to defend a shitty business model!

Good luck, you're going to need it. You will not get sympathy from many people on here

To be completely fair here Google's reviews seem impossible to remove too, as are a lot of other big boy's reviews. I once tried removing a Google review by getting it flagged dozens of times by high authority Google Local Guide accounts... nothing. At least this guy is a BHW member and you can PM him here (or even shit list if you truly believe you have a case).

Well, in my humble opinion , you get what you deserve. All such types of reveiw websites are a scam on itself, just out there to ruin the hard work of other people trying to make an honest living online.
I just hope that whoever does whatever necessary to get such sites out of the air for good!
a pitty the NSEO didn't work for this site. Hopefully someone knows some better strategies.
