Why am I such a dumb in SEO?

That's right: why am I a dumb in SEO? I am in the SEO business for 4/5 years, I know quite a lot of white hat and black hat technics (PBN, expired domain, GSA, scrape box, etc.). I read tons of books and articles but ... I have had absolutely no positive results on the websites I've worked for. No massive improvements, no big jump...

It is really hopeless. Should I really give up?

it can't be, that defys logic. why the hell are services active here then? why are people posting success stroies, big guides? you're doing something wrong, perhaps targetting the wrong keywords, perhaps not a good competition analysis? maybe you're creating shit PBN's. This is pretty vague question.

When I started I built literally 20 different sites in different niches and tested a variety of techniques to find out what worked and what was sustainable. Reading a load of blogs and forum posts is only 1% of the work required in understanding proper SEO.

Tell us what you've tried and for how long you've tried it on each example site, otherwise it's anyone's guess as to why what you're doing isn't working.

if youve worked on this 4-5 yrs and seen little to no change yet claim u have knowledge in
certain fields , maybe its time to re-evaluate what u think you no, sit down and maybe
start again, asa 4-5yrs no change something is wrong, its either your knowledge or

well i can't really say what you're doing wrong.

but i'd say target low competition keywords regardless of the search volume. don't use tools, also do a manual check on competitors.
why don't you go and buy a keyword package from bhw, i'd suggest @nihalsad for that.

ask him or anyone else for low comp keywords and you don't really need to do much with those. build good quality tier 1's and contextual tier 2's and spammy tier 3's. theres a sticky guide on the blackhat seo section. for higher competition keywords you're gonna need to build PBN's and buy guestposts. links on authority sites, the genuine ones, are also a boost but this all becomes costly.
build manual pbn's and if you're buying one, i'd suggest point it to your web2.0's. same with SAPE.

Then I optimise the basics (title, meta description, headers and content), then I focus on back links creation: I check what my competitors are doing and the quality of their BL: PA/DA, CF/TF and I try to get the same links. I also build PBN with tiers links (with GSA).
Unfortunately it doesn't work. Where is the problem?

well as per my experience just knowing something doesn't help. You have to apply twists on that. On page optimisation is elementary, but that's only 50% of the job. The other 50% makes it winning or losing..

The problem is not testing other aspects of off site SEO that might be different than their competitors.

To me I don't think you know the answer to the age old question, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?", and that is something that any of us in IM should know.

I'm sat shaking my head at the thought of you working on paying clients sites, after reading your admission you've no idea about seo.

I hope you're outsourcing to an agency for the client stuff ?

i feel like a lot has changed in SEO.

I get pages with 0 backlinks rank really high for (small) niche keywords.
Yet sites I do a lot of work for including so called high quality dummy pages as github and medium (and twitter) stay on page 3.

Also no disrespect to anyone but I am not so sure many of the SEO services offered here still work? Many of the threads are from like 2014.

Even when I create dozens, 100s or 1000s of backlinks thru DIFFERENT ways with gsa, rankerx, fcs, and index them thru again different methods, often there is like 0 movement compared to sites i do absolutely 0 "seo" for which often rank HIGHER which is weird isnt it?. Of course now its easy for people who offer services to say people are doing it wrong. But i think its pretty to safe to say there has been not a lot of posts on BHW in 2017 related to methods that still work?

Bro, every failure is a learning experience. Just keep creating. If it fails, move on and improve your next project. Eventually, you will find some success and then you can improve upon it and keep creating more.

I don't want to be a dick here really, but a bit of reality check is in order here. Some people simply do not have the ability to work in certain fields. I would love to be a footballer, but I am not, because I suck at it. I would love to be a porn actor, but I got a short dick. You would like to be a SEO, but after 5 years of trying it apparently didn't work out so maybe it's time to look somewhere else. As I said, I don't want to be a dick, but let's be real here for a minute.
