Experimented with this tonight with our homepage in a very competitive niche. I work for a company, doing their SEO, and our niche is cut throat and competitive.
I have done no linking, or anything else to the home page in the past two months.
Virtually all of the words it suggested are very familiar to the online training niche we are in. I recognized the words immediately.
Was able to quickly put a list together, copy it out, then go through add the recommended words were relevant to the content. (I would really consider these proper LSI keywords, even though LSI Graphs gives a very different list).
Initial score: 53%
After adding words: 79%
Tracking four "three letter phrases" for the home page. They fluctuate very little. Up one, on one day. Down one, on the next.
Will report back results. There's room to get it from 79% to higher, but I will need to add in more content. If I see a positive bump on this first test, I'm going full in!
I did check another page that I did something like this manually on, a few months ago. I used a tool to look at all the top words for the top ten results, then manually did this to another page. TEXTOPTIMIZER showed that page at 89% and not surprised. After I manually did this on that page, it brought all five keywords we track for it, from top to middle of page two, to bottom of page one.
I'll update if/when I see results for the home page.
Appreciate the tool and the thread on this. Been doing this a long time and am never afraid to learn or try something new. Ego is useless. Putting food on the table is what counts.
