You have to keep in mind OP that the search data from the Google keyword planner is not the same as the search volume on YouTube.The competitors for the same keyword could be getting traffic from suggested videos not youtube search.

In my experience the results depend on the keyword. If you tried to rank for a keyword that is rarely searched like "how to get blue sneakers out of a hammock" your ranking will stay, but if you rank for a keyword that is popular, like "how to lose weight", you'll drop in rank hourly.

good news the video is still on the indexes, but lost position
on youtube it's now page 4 index #2
and on google search (videos) it's now on page 2 index #7
(use a US vpn to check positions)


still the YouTube index version (after a week) burned with only 74,570 views out of 132K on counter
and i have the "NEW" badge on.... 1 week ago still...
my guess that they didn't bothered to update it since i stopped the traffic to the video and they prefer to update active videos

in order to check that i will start some normal traffic to the video (5K-10K per day ) with the new retention of 1.5 Minutes - 3 Minutes
i will monitor if the index changed and when, re-positions on youtube and google

will update soon

Have you tried logging in with a proxy from another location to test this 'local' ranking theory. Might be interesting to see 1.) the other coast lines 2.) another country

Would it be a gradient from the point of origin out, or are certain cities linked (say cities with similar liberal or conservative views) Also interesting to see if this applies across countries with similar viewpoints.

I feel like your video got "ghosted" the moment you started sending youtube views.

Your video couldn't get to the #1 for your keyword that barley has any competition.Only two videos on the first page has over 800 views and your video managed to drop to the 4th page with over 100k views sent.

I also saw your video got no comments so did your video get any organic views ?

Well, true or not, I am more interested in seeing if there is a discernable pattern. I have heard a lot of people say the same thing between incognito and not, but it would be interesting to try and see how it disperses ranking.

In my case on about 10 pages, since i check it all the time when youtube updates views, uploaded - 28page, after 12 hours 12 page, waiting for next update

Have you tested with proxies from different places? Or like I mentioned, it would be cool if you say lived in California and tested in a different liberal view area to see if it correlates based on state general view points. That is the only metric I could think of that Google could be using that could pass over distance (I am sure there are many others but my mind is small and slow). Would be cool if you saw in a liberal place your rank is high, but in say, conservative-ville Colorado springs your ranking is terrible.

WOW this is amazing, as soon as i tested the theory above, earlier today ( 4 hours ago) i decided to start sending normal traffic to the video (5K-10K per day ) with the new retention of 1.5 Minutes - 3 Minutes so.... a short time after traffic was sent to the video, i think it wa just an hour or so, it bounced back to it's ORIGINAL ranking at #4 of the 1st page

i never expect such a rapid change in such a short time, this is really interesting now, i sent only 1K-2K to the video in the last 4 hours, so this is a surprise to see it back in the game.
maybe it's just the activity maybe the higher retention helped, i really don't know yet, but i can tell that this minimal traffic raise the video from the deads...

well it was there and then bounced up and now i can can see it's back on the 4th page again, let see what happen next, it still show 74,570 on the search result page, can you confirm that?
the NEW badge is gone as much as i can see.
