The proof that (new) PBNs are dead [Screenshot attached]

Last edited:
On my latest test, PBNs started having an effect after 5-6 months. For 1.5 months my site wasn't even showing on the serps.

Why would you think that? Site was new, wasn't showing anywhere on my keywords. Added 20ish PBNs, after 1 to 2 months it started showing 20th to 30th place, then after another two months it got to first page. After 6 months it became first place, 500k searches.

I wonder why this seems so unreal.. Site's been penalized since last year due to having a CPA locker on it (massive sweep). Let me find some proof from old pictures that I have and I'll add them in an hour.

OP specifically said that he thinks PBNs are not working anymore in 2017 and you come up bragging about how you ranked a 500k keyword with 20 PBN links in 6 months. After I called you out, you said it was penalized in 2016, so that means your last PBN tests were made in late 2015 or at the very beginning of 2016, am I right? Which is also odd because in 2015, 2016 PBNs took effects almost immediately.

Either your point is invalid since OP said PBN were not working anymore in 2017 (My guess is after Fred's update) and you're talking about 2015, 2016 or you're full of shit. Can you clarify?

I didn't came by this thread bragging what I've did (I really hate bragging believe me), I only specified my rankings when someone asked me. I used that example of 2015-2016 since it was my site and because I get the same results in 2017 from a clients site, that I can not share.

Sorry for not clarifying before that, my bad.

I would like to thank @LuckyCharm007 for doing my bullshit calling in this thread, appreciated. :)

Person who registered today and already provides such an "amazing info" straight away is simply a dream of every community! Thank you! :)

(Hope that was also the last post.)

I think pbn will be still work.. well if you site is old made 2015 like other said its already been rankup or your competition are also active in seo that is why they are actively in the top 10 rankings..
Much better to test it again with new domain and make sure you rank some site which is low competition and fairly easy to rank ..

please continue spreading this stuff and discourage people
this is epic stuff
more please
and oh yea seo is dead yo

This is just proof that you have no idea what you're doing.
I think your PBNs suck... What doesn't work for you, it may works for others.

So much talking from you but no concrete opinion, just cringe...
Let's see, exaplain why I'm wrong.

LatteGrande said my PBNs suck... Well, even if with similar PBNs I usually ranked last year I'm not arrogant anough to say I would rank for sure with this PBNs... but I should at least outrank new websites with 0 backlinks on page 6 don't you think? They are outranking me though... why?

We have to explain why people with these claims are wrong like 3 times a week. After a certain period of time, it stops being fun and we just "cringe". You are welcome to use search function, there's at least a dozen threads where I explained this.

If you want reasoning, alright. Your domains are bad, your PBN is badly built, your onpage SEO is most likely catastrophic, keywords that you target are hard and of course, month is absolutely nothing to make any conclusion these days. It will be most likely multiple of these reasons. If you lack patience, then SEO is not the path you should be taking.

I don't have to explain anything to you.

You jumped to the conclusion that PBNs don't work in 2017 when there are countless people ranking with them this year. Now you want me to prove you wrong?

Obviously the people outranking you are doing something you're not.

But keep telling people PBNs don't work just bc this one time, it didn't work for you. I'm sure the people ranking with them would love that. :)

I'm pretty sure new PBNs are dead (those built on 2017), they do not work anymore.
But PBNs built on <2016 still works.

I'm using PBNs from different years now and everyone of them actually ranked me with no problem.
On May 2017 I started my first project of 2017... and simply it doesn't work.
I published the contents on May and started my PBN campaign on 1st July 2017.
I almost drop 10 PBN backlinks over the last 1,5 month and serp didn't changed a bit.
There are crappy domain with crap content and 0 backlinks (and they are not using PBN, probably they do not even know what PBN are) on page 6 and they actually outrank me.

My domains are not spammed and my PBN is powerful enough, as I said I have quite some experience now.
And if the power were the problem, still I should outrank crap domains with no contents and no backlinks don't you think? I would have more power than a brand new domain for sure.

And onpage is good for sure.

The following you can see my serp changes. serp keep always the same from mid May

ok that it xxk month fucked I go bust kids hit the streets

Because your PBNs are shit, maybe?

Fixed it for ya.

So please, tell me why 10 domains like this one are shit:

I deleted the last 3 digits just to avoid any kind of tracking. And as you can read on Ahref Domain Rating shows how strong a backlink profile of a target website is on a scale from 1 to 100 (with the latter being the strongest). Backlinks from sites with higher DR carry more "weight".

And above 40 is good

So bad they didn't fetch all balinks from ahref but still the TF:CF ratio it's pretty good.

There isn't a single backlink of spam, I can guaratee you that

That is just the tip of the iceberg when evaluating a quality domain and even that tip does not thrill me without delving into those backlinks.

I'm not commenting on whether PBNs work or not with that statement (they do for me) I'm saying that there is much more to that when you are buying domains for a PBN.

That doesn't mean they weren't abused in the past. ;)

This domain were own from an institution. Honestly I think it's pretty hard institutions mess up with black hat seo...
And I always take a look at whois, I buy only domains that hasn't expired before and this hasn't. Registered on 2008, I'm the the second owner of this domain...

That's cute, but there's much much more to check than Whois, which is pretty irrelevant honestly.

Please tell me what more should I check and I will do.
I would be glad to say I'm wrong with my statement in this case

That doesn't mean the domain is clean or that your backlinks are strong. Let me show you an example of a domain I investigated recently:

DOMAIN = INDEXED

has links from: forbes.com, huffingtonpost.com, techcrunch.com, stackoverflow.com, ehow.com, yahoo.com, thekitchn.com, marketingprofs.com, digitaljournal.com, blogher.com, paperblog.com, technewsworld.com, beforeitsnews.com, ranker.com, econtentmag.com and the list goes on and on...

Ahrefs:
NqGLzUX

Strong, right?

Majestic:
A59kgjo

Decent, isn't it?

Moz:
YYdQJnA

Rocking it!

But guess what? This domain went for less than $500. why? Look at the anchor text distribution

Red flag #1

Q62wESR

Red Flag #2

The domain redirected to an outreach company (https://web.archive.org/web/20170428071128/http://outreachify.com/)

I didn't even bother to bid on the domain. These domains are NOT clean and chances are a backlink from that domain will either be filtered, ignored or eventually penalized.
