this was expected to happen and its just beginning.. why should fbi or government stay out of btc.. most of us know that all cybercriminals using btc for many years to pay for identity theft services, CP, drugs, do tax evasion and who knows what other kind of illegal sh1t.. no any normal government in world will tolerate this and they will either want to control or shut down this currency completely.. same things happend to e-gold, libertyreserve.. maybe btc is harder to shut down but government will always find a way if they really want to do that.

Yes thats how skids buy their software

but is it really wrong? if you are good person then you should have nothing to hide

The more popular BTC becomes, the more attacks it will face from the government. Not to mention all the money in the system from the darknet, its billions of dollars we are talking about. It's nothing to sneeze at.

How exactly has bitcoin risen to almost $3200 when shit loads has been stolen by the FBI and it just forked. I thought the fork would have dropped the price and previous hacks / scams have always resulted in a large down turn except this time the opposite seems to have happened.

Because everyone dumped BCC/BCH for BTC.

So little traction for bitcoin cash I think everyone knows that BTC is superior, every other coin including the fork bitcoin cash is just tracking BTC.

Even the fact that FBI are so interested just further proves its importance.

All of this is reflected in the price.

I suppose the more coins that are confiscated the fewer coins there are in the hands of the public

Yea good point. Fewer coins, same demand so price rises.
On the face of it, it all seems so unstable as well, but I guess that just isn't putting anyone off.

That's always the response... if you're not doing anything wrong you've got nothing to hide. The thing no one seems to consider is that governments change their mind about 'wrong' all the time. Something that's entirely legal today can be legislated against tomorrow. And are you completely sure that's it's not already 'wrong', based on some obscure law that no one even remembers right now? Beyond that, an angry prosecutor can make your life hell for a very long time, even if you're found innocent in court later. So quit it with the 'if you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to hide' business. There are a lot of legitimate reasons to hide things even if you're a perfect angel.
