Expired domain vs New domain

i am about to make a website, and i am totally lost between the choice of buying an expired domain or a new one.

so i wonder what are the benefits of an expired domain? advantages and disadvantages compared to a new domain name?

please advise.

Advantages of Expired Domain :
1) Domain Age Matters
2) Some reputation and web ranking factors are already there
3) No Google Sandbox
4) Existing Back links
5) Existing incoming traffic

Disadvantages of Expired Domain :
1) If the domain is blacklisted
2) If it got Google penalty before
3) If it was used for bad purpose and had bad reputation

Buy from a trusted guy (read the reviews , comments etc) and either use it as a main domain or as suggested above as tier 1.

Use Archive.org, check the domain name at different periods of its history to see if it was used for controversial uses...

Tier 1 means to create a website with this expired domain for the unique purpose to link back to your money site. The juice of the expired domain name will pass to your all new domain name. You have to write a content in Tier 1 related to the one of your money site.
