Just starting my journey in cryptocurrencies

LearnBitcoinTrading.com

There is a walk through with setting up a first wallet and buying bitcoin

Virwox.com
You can use PayPal or credit card.

USD -> SLL -> BTC

The fees are relatively high and at first you'll have a $100/day limit.

In short, you will choose a wallet (sort of like a virtual investing portfolio depending on the one you choose) and you will buy coins or fragments of coins from an exchange. Some wallets have these built in. Every exchange chargers different fees and allows different payment methods. (Bank transfer, paypal, CC, etc) each payment type will have different fees the exchanges charge

Should I immediately buy a hardware wallet when investing in cryptocurrency? + so it isn't impossible to get your hands on a bitcoin? It's pretty liquid?

Yes, virvox seems like the best website to buy bitcoins.

I'm from Europe + around 2k to invest .. Not supermuch but would like to put it into cryptocurrencies.

This was hilarious today! https://twitter.com/CNBC/status/885188538710585346

Anyway, as I understand that you are newbie in crypto, I suggest you to wait till August. There is something that will go on on August 1st.
And it can end in various ways for crypto.

Search for your self and you will learn something eventually :)

I briefly saw that somewhere on a reddit page I think .. I also red that bitcoin will correct in a few days/weeks so I was planning to wait a bit longer .. I'll wait until the beginning of August :) Thanks for the tip!

I used Wirex app to buy some bitcoins for me.

Depends what country you live in, but localbitcoins.com is the fastest and easiest for me. No ID verification and there are sellers that accept local bank transfer (free and instant) and you get your Bitcoins released within a minute or so
