GOOGLE PLAY 2 YEARS OLD APP BASICALLY ALL RANK DROPPED, NEED ASO HELP!

Hello, we have dating app, it is basically 2 years old. About 3 months back we hit 1 million downloads in 1 and half years. Now app have 1 300 000+ downloads. We are working basically all time on same ASO and same keywords. So after new years our app rank started to drop and registrations as well. Before 2017 new years we had 1400-1800 registrations in day. So after new years we had only 700-900 registrations. So we made new nice screens for phones, for 7-10 inch tablets and our installs raised a lot. In 2017 April we got 230 000+ new installs, we got back our rankings and registrations.

So google play made new update on this month 1 day. 2017 May 1 we got only 683 active installs, day back it whose 4000+ and another day back 7000+. So ranks and installs just basically disappeared. Now we are getting 200-250+ registrations in day. We talked with one guy, he said it maybe "dance" and if we will not get back our rankings in 48 hours we need to do something.

We contacted google play as well, they investigating this thing, and we got one email from them whit question: when your rank dropped?

So anybody maybe have some opinion on this? How this can happen, old nice ranking app just goes down suddenly from nothing.

Maybe your competition grew up so big, that they overpass you? Did you investigate your rankings on appannie and appbrain?

This cannot be normal, we had drops, but not like this...

In full years we had drops to minimum 1700+ daily installs, but not 692...

After that our many main keywords are gonna, we did not change anything until this fall. Yesterday night we made test, made copy-paste everything from other app that ranks in first place by our main keyword. We just change that app's name to our, everything whose same. 12 Hours passed our app did not appeared by that keyword...

There is no thing like "penalty" in google play. You will get app removal, then you can appeal for that. This i by dam google play algorithm code change in this month 1 day. We already both ASO description and added it. If nothing will change in few days new screens and future images coming.

We think that after google play algorithm change, your app has flagged as spam, for using too many dating keywords in description.

Another problem is there is to many new dating apps and they buy reviews.

So how to rank with them without black hat??? Google don't do their jobs, because 70-80% of marked app buys installs and reviews. Who is not buying they are in bottom. And another thing Facebook that is full of porn, and cruel content is Social, pegi: Parental guidance. All dating apps automatically flaget adult pegi: 18.

Man, I am in the same situation!
I have some tools app. Few years all was good. But last time one man with 3 clones using bot services hit main keyword in all the countries on the 1 place.

In the all countries. How it possible. This is one owner! He used very hard bot keyword installs. In 3 monthes hit hit 5 millions installs and got first places in the search. And filling good...How to fight with bot installs...I don't know

Hello, by my analyzation. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peacock.flashlight He is buying reviews, a lot of them! 3.0 First Tracked 11/10/2016 So app is 6 month old! No way he got like this much installs and reviews! After that is shows constant review drop, so he is using automatic reviews split in some time, so when it ends few days no reviews, then he orders again them. Then 2017 mar 22 he got huge rank loss, i think it is because of google play algorithm change. Later he made updated but rank still who's going down. His rank got down from 18k to 222 mar 23, he made again update but nothing changed. After that I can see that somewhere whose something wrong from 2017 mar 29 to apr 22, 0 reviews, not negative, nor positive. maybe they unpublished app or they got suspended app and make appeal and got back.

Too many reviews for that much installs... App is only 5 month old 5.0 First Tracked 12/20/2016... It is fishy that next app whose released after one month. By all it shows the reviews who's going from 3-5 reviews in day, sometimes 8-10 reviews. 2017 mar 4 he's rank started to drop dropped 100+ place in free tools. Now it is funnest thing from 2017 mar 8 day his reviews suddenly raised from 4-6 to 16-22 in day, and as well his rank started to go up! Mar 22 he lost as well ranks from 13k, to 170.

My suggestion is report this 2 apps as inappropriate, whit all explanation of review buying. Report over desktop browser, not mobile phone. After that if you think that this is one developer apps, try to get some proof, now I can see only one thing, one app whose launched month before. If you will find solid proof, than his account will be terminated! Google play not allowed double accounts! His all apps will disappear from store.

Now my suggestion for your app ASO. Analyze keywords here https://sensortower.com/application/home/#/590b844a0211a66d6b000115/US/keyword-research-tab choose most searchable and lowest competition.Try adding Flashlight to name, one time in small description, and 5 times in first text of big description. If this will not work, try finding someone ASO writer, you can get one in fever. Give him this keywords and ask to add them in description, he will make nice description for you. After that there is very interesting things happening... So if it real then load of apps losing ranks by past months. Another conclusion: something wrong with searchman tool.

Let look at the rankings.
Angry Birds from 7k to 257...

Facebook from 4 million to 162...

YouTube from nearly 2 million to 200...

So basically all apps ranks dropped... So maybe google play done something wrong? Or this i new ranking system... Or it is maybe just dance, but I never heart that dance can be 2 months. After that I contacted search man, asking maybe they're tool broken.

There is nothing wrong with ranking.
Just use the Google play search function to understand more.

70% organic installs comes from search.
Now in GP when you search for a specific keyword.
One app only shows at the top, then you have to scroll down which not like in the past you get 3 top results and just a simple show more button to get more apps.

I think Google is trying forcing developers into buying search ads.
As your app will show at the top results depending on how competitive the keyword is "Which is almost non existent for now"

I would recommend you to advertise a bit.
Give Google Play search ads a go using keywords you want to rank for.

ASO will always work in some way but unfortunately ASO alone this days won't get you at the top.

Okay then explain my few things.

We lost ranking few days back, our app dropped from 7k daily installs to 700. When we launched app we were getting after 3 weeks 300+ installs. At our biggest rank loses we had 1500+ daily installs, but not 700... Next, we lost this huge amount of rank in one day.

Now explain us about advertising. We both adwords google play ads. Few hours we see ads in google play, but then it disappeared. Now it shows some clicks in dashboard. It shows enabled, but inside ads we can see this message: Policy violation, Adult content... Funniest thing that they show other dating apps ads, but not our.

I hate so big discrimination for dating niche. Our website and apps don't have nudity, yes it is 18, but it is not porn or something. We tried to order in facebook ads, same thing, we do not allow adult content... After that adwords and admob not allowed dating...

Yes, google want to force use adwords campaign....But...This campaing DO NOT affect keyword ranking...For example: in one country I placed on 10 position...Using App campaign Adwords I bought 1000 installs/day 10 day...And...I get installs....I moved up in free tools, but my search position NOT changed Strange solution by google....Because I don't care my position in the tools chart, and I don't care users from campaign...because ROI for 1000$ in ads = 50$ returns
