IFTTT Insta to Twitter WITHOUT hashtags

Hey Guys,

Hope you're all good?

As mentioned in title, how can I use IFTTT to Tweet a picture once my Instagram account posts an image WITHOUT including the hashtags from Instagram? So just the image and the text caption.

The hashtags from Instagram are included in the {{caption}} and ideally I don't want the hashtags to appear the tweets!

I see why you want to do that, but i think it's not possible with IFTTT, at least i don't see any setting to filter out the hashtags from the caption.

You can try Zapier too, i haven't tried this specifically with it, but i think it's not possible with that either.

Since Instagram and Twitter both have their hashtags within the caption there is no way to do it.
I think it would work with Tumblr to Instagram or Twitter, because Tumblr has an own section for hashtags.

Place 140 characters before starting hashtags on the Instagram or use hashtags in first comment.
You can't do any recipe "to Instagram".

Yeah on Twitter it seems a bit spammy and most smart phones can't even handle that much text.

Are you still attempting to achieve this? I only know the basics of platform on ifttt but with a filter, you can actually replace text within the caption. For instance, if you are always posting the same hashtags you can replace them with essentially nothing. I set my var igCaption = Instagram.Caption or whatever it is. Then you do a simple igCaption = igCaption.replace (#HASHTAG, '') this can be repeated any number of times.

In that location, you can enter only enter HTML as far as I know. But if you join IFTTT Platform, I was invited too but I think there is a way you can just sign up for it if not be logged into IFTTT and click the following link -> https://platform.ifttt.com/ . Now you can use platform which is much more powerful. Why because of the FILTER which is where you can include TypeScript. I have a limited background in this so any interesting filter scripts people come up with please share them with me, I need all the help I can get. Ok once you are set up in platform create a new applet in it. Choose your trigger and then here's the cool thing you can daisy chain actions off of that trigger but anyway. Once you have a trigger and action there is a place for filter code.
